Agreed on the point that Singapore's queue cannot be trusted laugh.gif
When it comes to food, seems like generally Malaysians still prefer the taste back home biggrin.gif

Btw, Singapore food sucks to the max... Even you pay a premium at an exclusive restaurant.

Dammit, especially that satay bihun... WTF!

How you guys survive with the food here?

Discuss...

So far so good for me. Maybe I've got trained during the uni time to eat shitty food.

QUOTE(JohnJon82 @ Dec 1 2014, 05:24 PM)
Do like the locals, queue behind long queue sure good one. Different taste buds, we can't blame the food taste bad and think our tongue are the correct one.

I see long queue then change restaurant/stall one tongue.gif

But there's some crazy queue I see in SG. One serious one is at 313@Sommerset (or Orchard central? They're like all in the same building so I can't differentiate). The yogurt at B2 or B3 named Llaolao or something. Last time I see, the queue turn one whole round around their outlet till the end of escalator, continue again at another end near emergency exit. Sot one really doh.gif I rather go there on a weekday to skip the queue.

biggrin.gif Prefer the price back home.

*Calculator mode ON:
2 vege 1 meat $3.5
$3.5 x 2.585 = RM9.0475
RM9.0475 = 0.9 x M'sia McD Big Mac Set

In short... You eat one mix rice in SG can get 0.9 x Big Mac Set in M'sia*

If I remember correctly, BigMac in M'sia after tax is RM9++~RM10 right?

Then RM9 can only buy ~0.9 BigMac la biggrin.gif

If you are going back to West Malaysia, you can only do full withdraw at age 55 by renounce your PR and not coming back SG to work.

But I'm not sure how they can identify whether you going back to West Malaysia.

Some are hired actors to generate the initial lines and generate the hype I heard.

I always dine breakfast lunch and dinner at golden mile food court for 7 years now. The one opp the bus place to malaysia in beach road. Food there are good for the value. Look for the few stalls with newspaper cut out displayed. Corner jap food, fried kuey teow, chili mee, beef noodle at first storey and corner fish ball noodle, chap fan, chicien rice, red tulang at basement. 10 sgd for 3 meals per day can do.

Just to share since the topic of food is around. I really like the tim sum at Ion Orchard Taste Paradise. A bit pricy but the quality worth every penny. For best result book for 12.30 slot and try not the first 11.00am slot where the tim sum is rushed

If you like korean ramen or a magee mee lover, go try Togi restaurant at mosque street, near the china town MRT. Just order the korean army stew and it is good for up to 3 people.

For affordable chinese restaurant that is special try Beng Hiang at Amoy Street, order the yam fish head soup, fried roll and mantou pork.

For fancy brunch you can never go wrong with wild honey at orchard.

Sushi Tei.... not sure if the waitress or the food, i just kept going back.

Pandera999, If your motive in Singapore is to save money i would suggest you get a cheap rental room with WIFI and find one that allows home cooking. Will goes a long way in saving money and healthier diet. I mostly spend my time playing computer games and dont enjoy the sun much, so i would say 2k is ok and u can even save quite a bit
