QUOTE(LightningFist @ May 4 2014, 05:44 PM) Anyone who entered Singapore as a graduate, hope you can help me out with a question (not sure who to ask, I have Sgrean and Msian friends but not Msians who graduated and now work in SG friends) Better to have conferment letter or certification letter of degree completion letter from your school. Transcripts not so direct in showing you have satisfied all the requirements for the degree. IIRC I finished school at Apr/May, still have to wait until June for the conferment letter to apply PR and temp EP then start work.If you plan to get an EP (I am still in school now) do you need to have graduated already (the big piece of paper at the ceremony, about one month after my exams) or can you get it using a online printed and certified copy of your transcript (showing your name and grades). Thank you! Edit: I am not in SG but I guess I could call them from here when the time is right - if they entertain questions like this on the phone This post has been edited by JohnJon82: May 5 2014, 10:31 AM |

QUOTE(seantang @ May 14 2014, 11:17 AM) Good news!!! Although there's no convenient way to get from Senai to Singapore. And definitely no reliable way (timing-wise) to get from Singapore to Senai. AA took years to post an official statement of AA shuttle bus from SG to Senai. The mode of transport is the same for the official shuttle bus and the unofficial one before. Board Causeway link at Queen Street or Kranji, transfer to hourly scheduled Causeway link airport bus at CIQ to Senai. Some rumours said they are not allowed to do so officially before because restrictions from SG side. The shuttle bus took some business from Changi, saw some SG locals and ang mohs travelling on the same bus from SG to Senai.I hope Firefly organises a shuttle bus for each flight timing. |

QUOTE(elmo666 @ May 16 2014, 07:21 PM) Hey guys. I need some guidance/suggestion/advice here. 1) If your parents stay the same house in JB I think worth the effort. Else, rent a room in Singapore, 300 share room still available maybe.I just got an offer from Sg company and they offer me sgd2k for IT Support with 1year contract. Standard working hours, 830am-6pm. Btw, I got my parents' house in JB, and I guess I'm willing to travel everyday to Spore by bus/bike. So here's my questions: 1) Is it really worth the troublesome ( wake early morning *4-5am* everyday / facing traffic jams / long queue if using public bus ) ? 2) What is the best telco to use in Spore? Kindly enlighten me. Thanks in advance. 2) All 3 are OK for my area now. |

QUOTE(cherryl9 @ May 22 2014, 08:19 PM) Yes from KL. haha, but no lah don't want to bother people lah! You have to drag the luggages down from the bus at woodland to go through custom yourself. If you decide to take a cab from woodland, you have to drag your luggages for around 15 minutes after you pass the custom to the taxi stand. Cab in Golden Mile is quite ok, depend where the bus drop you though. Try to pack light.Alaskan bunny, how did you transport your things by bus? How much stuff did you have? I will have at least one big sized luggage plus two medium sized bags. I am thinking of going by bus/train, then from golden mile/woodlands take a taxi to my destination in SG. But but but i get headaches when thinking of transporting these big pieces from KL to bus/train then to taxi. Guss this might be the most viable way though? yay, will be in Singapore in about 3 weeks' time! |

QUOTE(LightningFist @ Jun 3 2014, 09:46 AM) if you exclude the really ridiculous O&G, IB/finance, and mining pay that may sometimes reach 80k to 100k for a graduate (including their super and pre tax), a grad is only gonna pay around 15% to 20% tax. Got any figures to compare? Your Australia and Singapore pay perhaps? Just use the ratio Australie:Singapore will do. I heard Australian don't give big bonuses like Singapore? Couple with the high tax and smaller bonus in Australia still ridiculously higher?so after tax it is still a lot. in terms of savings they may depend on your lifestyle (living further away etc) but since everyone here is talking about conversion, it is very possible to live comfortably in Australia without spending all your money and when you turn the rest into ringgit it is huge. before ringgit it's also very substantial |

QUOTE(Fiona Chin @ Jun 8 2014, 12:47 AM) Wow must be elite to afford to treat a plate of char kuew teow in world most expensive city. An eat out is a luxury for both of us as we are living in debt. Your treat certainly welcomed. I am tired cooking 3 meals a day to pay off our loans. You know my phone, we are waiting. Told you sour grape more than appreciation here. For you better go join the SG Expat, if locals know what your family own here they create facebook page pressure government to take back all your land and properties.QUOTE(Green_Emerald @ Jun 9 2014, 01:36 PM) Those like low cost house. Cause I heard cannot take loan if no income or whatever, if never pay income tax, when buy property they sometimes will come ransack your house and ask for income tax payback. So if working in Sg, can entitle to these loans and stuff? Especially the low cost house. If you talking about the low cost house in Malaysia, Pr1ma for example, then you need Malaysia's income tax to prove that you are within the range. Declare jobless then not entitled. You can't pay for the loan if you are jobless. Gahmen are not that stupid, many overseas working people thinking the way you do trying to make good use of our parent's tax money. If working in Singapore, you can get loan for Malayisa's private house, car, secured personal loan those no problem. Some problem with my Malaysia credit card application previously though. |

Hi people, I am moving my stuff back to Malaysia by air. Anyone know how much Malaysia custom tax for bulky electrical items like TV, monitor and printer? The items are few years old but still usable.

QUOTE(meonkutu11 @ Jul 23 2014, 07:49 AM) All, 7500B Beach Road should be pan pac not park royal. The hotel is quite new, 1-2 years of age. I stay and work at Beach Road for few years now. Good place. Opp your hotel is Arab street for happy hour. Green and Orange MRT line within walking distances. Changi airport 40 mins mrt, or 20 mins cab. Plenty of good food, both food courts and atas food. Shopping you can go Bugis junction or the Thai supermarket down the road. Free view of laser shows and fireworks, one big one coming 9th Aug. If you are alone and have emergency, Thai bar also have and Geylang is nearby too.Appreciate your comments on the apartments below; 1-Regency House 121 Penang Road 2-PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Singapore – 7500B Beach Road 3 -Shangri-La Singapore Service Apartments & Residences, 1 Anderson Road Given the above options for my temporary apartment. As mentioned earlier, will be working at Suntec. My take now is ParkRoyal as it only short walking distance to the office. How's the area? Should I consider other options? Thanks. |
