as long as not PR/singaporeon, still subject to MOM
The employer still have to submit the application to MOM, and if they reject then GG.
However in most of the case won't get rejected, the concern is only getting what pass
first of all, which part of Msia u're from? Can you travel back frequently?

bedding sheet house owner no supply?
I will say what you bought down is sufficient..
Perhaps some SGD as well...

Don't say some la... Later he bring 100SGD only. 100SGD no need 1 week also finish d biggrin.gif

Hi, want to ask, when first moving to SG for work, what are the things we should bring over and what should we buy over there in SG ?

I will be renting and was wondering if the cost of many small things like bedding, sheet, hangers, kettle etc etc etc have a noticeable price diff ?

Currently bringing cloths, documents, electronics, light toiletries only.
*

Like mentioned above - if you're driving in, bring as much as you can use. Might as well.

If you're taking a bus or flight though - pretty much what you have on your list already. I'd also bring a towel, a set of bed sheets, blanket (like airline one), your favourite toolkit (to fix, cut, unscrew whatever etc) and a mess can (or bowl), spork or chopsticks, a small boiler (kettle) and one meal (bread, biscuits or Maggi mee). Then buy a large bottle of water when you land in Sg. Also photocopy your passport, IC, driving licence, physically write down all important phone numbers, including banks (for lost cards), your landlord (and address), your new employer, people who can help you in Sg etc.

Seems like overkill... but lots of things can happen on Day 1 and sometimes you just may not have the time, opportunity and freedom to go shopping on the first day. You may have things you simply must attend to first, like (touch wood) lost luggage, wallet, hand phone, sprained ankle, or even simply raining too heavily to go anywhere.

For groceries, look for Fairprice. There's one fairprice is about every neighbourhood. Price is alright. I find giant supermarket more expensive. Giant hyper then only can be same or cheaper..

value dollar and good price centre are way more cheap than ntuc. most of their items are direct/parallel imports or near expired ones. simply because they are actually pemborong themselves smile.gif

lays stax for SGD1.90 or coke for 60 cents. thumbup.gif

First Price too.

What's good about valuedollar is that can get cheap chocolate, crackers, titbits from there. Oreo for just 0.7 KitKat for 0.8 etc. Toblerone also quite cheap there. But choices for household use still quite limited. I go to valuedollar or first price for lifebuoy and head & shoulder. Like 50% or more cheaper than Fairprice.

But still... Not so much choices la. Can't find much dairy products too since those expire quite soon so I get milk from Fairprice instead biggrin.gif Things like clothes hanger, I also prefer fairprice one. $2 for 10 nice solid metal hangers.

Dear All,

I need some advise from yours.I have job offer from Singapore company, I will based in K.L. But, I will have training in Singapore for 3 to 6 months. I just want to ask :-

1) Is the company help me to apply the training Employment Pass?
2) My salary is paying in MYR, do I need to declare the Income Tax in Singapore?

Hey recently a few of my friends who accepted job promotion transfers by their multinational companies from Malaysia to Singapore got rejected by MOM. Reason being no degree.

Then those with degree, still got their transfers WIP because Ministry of Manpower still pondering over their applications.

So if we apply directly to employer, we won't be subjected to Ministry of Manpower scrutiny right?
*
MOM will tell you the reason of their rejection? I thought always the "we are not even sorry for a bit, after flipping through your application for 1 sec, we decided to reject you for undisclosed reason"?

Before that 2 questions, you need to ask you are employed under which company? The Singapore company may register a Malaysia company and you are paid under the MY one. Then answers to your 2 question are "no", and vice versa. Since you are paid in RM... should be under their MY's payroll.

They reject one of my friend because no degree.

Another few pending application to be reviewed. Been 3 months already. Looks like Singapore discourage people from getting transfer by MNC to Spore office to get job unless that person is an Ang Moh.
*
MOM tell you in letter or conversation because rejection because of no degree? Or you just guess and blame father blame mother because they don't approve?

In general case, people will not get rejected for pass, unless
1. application got problem (lack of documents for example)
2. company quota (For example, since ur friend no degree, maybe suppose get S pass, but S pass got quota and the quota of the company full ad)
3. Got any criminal record or any other personal problems (SG quite particular with this)

So ask ur friends check back with the HR of the company, where is the problem.
If not, get the application number and call to MOM and ask.

My bro got 1 friend UQ 1st class kena rejected as well, then it seems to be documents problem.
problem solved on 2nd application

4. Change of government's policy. EP renewal in the same company with higher salary and experience also have a chance to be rejected.
