is there any rule of thumb on the max credit limit for a credit card based on annual income? my current credit limit is 1.5x my monthly income and i wanna see how much i can request to increase the limit...
*
if your income is less than RM36K/year, max CL is 2X your monthly salary. If above RM36K/year, then you can go request whatever amount you want but subjected to the bank's approval.

If my payment due date is 21st and I make payment (via Interbank Giro) on 20th morning (before the cut off period), does it still consider as payment made on time?

Logically yes.... the payment consider made on 20th.
Again, there could be 1-2 day delay ... there's a fe wdays after Due Date before Finance charges is calculated.

From my past experience, they will still charge you. You need to fill in a dispute form and they will investigate the case upon receiving the form. You may not need to pay the amount (or the interest that goes with it) but it is best to call the centre to verify with them.

It's best to call them and tell them you are not paying the amount (and the future interest). Normally, they will understand.

In a fraud transaction, such verifications occurs and the bank will block/cancel the old card and reissue you with a new one. Subsequently the bank will ask you to fill in a form which is called a transaction dispute form. Wait for a few days and see whether the transaction appears in your account. You'll need this info to fill into your form anyway if it does appears. (e.g Among info required are Date of Transaction, Transaction, Amount. Signature, declaration, etc)

Transaction dispute takes a while to clear off and there's nothing to be worried if you are not accountable for the transaction. It is absolutely wrong and gravely incorrect to say if you raise transaction dispute you'll automatically need not pay. There are many reasons why a person would raise the transaction dispute and the bank investigate throughly every one of the cases before they'll remove the transaction from your account. Note that the cardholder is viable for such transactions if there's an element of negligence leading to the transaction.

Next time, please reveal the bank's name as well - no sifu here can guess the bank's name. Different banks have slight different processes but generally you still need to fill up the transaction dispute.

would like to ask whether can we cancel the cc if there still outstanding balance on the card? need to settle full amt or repay the bank monthly?

since BN implement those below 36k to haf only max 2 cards and those that haf over 2 cards haf to cancel the card and given max of 2 yrs of grace period to repay the bank?? i wonder is tis really implement on every bank?

if yes, so the monthly repayment will be charge by interest or interest free? i doubt those bank will give interest free repayment lor.. tongue.gif

Yes, you can cancel the card.

According to the statement by BNM, card issuers will engage with the affected cardholders to assist them in restructuring their repayments to facilitate the smooth implementation of this measure. In addition, cardholders can also seek the assistance of Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) for advice on their debt management.

So to clear your doubt, it is better for you refer to bank itself on this matter.

Free interest repayment? Can go on dreaming LoL.

It should be "interest free" per say unless you missed payment. Why i say that is because interest already charged is "ALREADY CHARGED".
i.e. if your current outstanding balance is RM12k (inclusive of interest charged - if previously you don't pay in full every month), and they term it out for 12 months; monthly repayment is RM1k. So if you miss the monthly RM1k repayment, interest at card's interest rate and late fees will be levied towards your account.

but again, pls confirm with the bank.

There is annual income requirement for CC application. I wonder the banks are looking at the base pay only, or allowance/bonus included?

The above is correct. There is a 3 day grace period for late payment charges AND interest if you paid the statement balance in full.

If you do not, you only get late payment charges waived for payment above minimum. Interest is charged based on statement amount from the transaction dates of each individual transaction up to full payment for the transaction or due date of next statement, whichever comes first. Including compound interest, the amount due can be much bigger than expected.
