My wife has the Citibank PremierMiles but only used it to get Freebies. Today, my wife called Citibank to request waiver for her PremierMiles coming annual fee. I was surprised that Citibank happily waived the annual fee without any conditions thumbup.gif

Guys, I went to sign my housing loan with UOB today and was asked if I want to apply for UOB one card as well and so I did.

Just curious, is this card good? Oh, they waived the RM50 until the end of March which is the reason I took the offer.

Thanks for the link, saw it earlier.

Most credit card issuers nowadays offer to absorb the 1st year RM50GST. And for your information, all the bank staff are pressured to get new customers for credit cards. And the UOB One Card is great for petrol up to RM600 and that is about it. You only earn miserable 0.3% for general transactions. Not only that, they have new stupid requirement in order to get annual fee waived, need to swipe 60 times a year! Got to waste time calling UOB to request for annual fee waiver. To All: I just posted a new update on Maybank Credit Card Promotions and Benefits 2012.

By the way, the HSBC Rewards Points are good for up to 3 years only smile.gif

Has anyone focus on loan from credit cards?

I know that Stan. Chart. has this Cheque On Call feature, which allow quick loan from the CL with attractive interest rate.

How about others like Maybank or CIMB?

Focus is like a positive word and just does not sounds right when referring to loans. Focus on how to make more money so no need loan from credit card more appropriate tongue.gif

And what is so good about the SCB Cheque On Call? Interest rate? Any upfront fees? Duration?

Please stick to credit card discussion only. No loan talk.
I don't appreciate it if topics are mixed up and FYI loan from credit cards are very expensive - we don't tolerate debt building the wrong way in here.

Hehe, I was trying to say 'focus on the topic' of... Last year was offered with the rate of 1% up front fee + 2.99% interest rate, 12 months repayment period, which I think it's a good deal. Not sure if this is still valid.

OK, understand your point there, probably it's better to discuss in different thread.

IMO, this has slowly become a credit card's feature, be it COC or CashTreats, which I think will help the forumers to decide which card to apply if this feature is important to them.

If you have this kind intention to inform the public then it is good. It is even better to also educate the public both the features and the cons of such features. Many would only want to mention the getting the money part but forgetting the interest and risk of such debts - we don't want one sided information.

Stretch your finances further with a longer credit period of up to 60 days absolutely interest free for all retail transactions.

Meaning due date is 60 days from statement date right.

Couple of months ago I asked for waiver for my PremierMiles annual fees and was told that there is no annual fee for the first two years. However did not manage to ask for waiver of rm50 GST. So have to use 2000 premiermiles to redeem.

What kind of good benefits are you expecting ?

What are your spending pattern / location ?

Each CC have its pros and cons. If you can provide more info, the seniors here can give recommendations.

e.g.
- I like to watch movies at TGV/GSC/Cathay/MBO/etc.
- I like to drink at Coffee Bean/Starbucks/Old town/....
- I like to eat at hotel buffet
- I like to eat at Restaurant such as xxx, yyy, zzz ?
- I like shopping at Coach, Burberry, Jimmy Choo, or Parkson/Jusco/Metrojaya or Hang Ten/Levi's/Baleno/... ?
- I like to pump Petronas/Shell/no care
- I fly a lot overseas and pay for flight/hotel/etc.
- etc.
- ...
