QUOTE(ghoss @ Oct 16 2013, 11:14 AM) Hi, Sarjan just want to ask , if it's possible to convert credit card debt into a loan without going to AKPK ? Listen to me, not worth it to convert to Personal Loan (I presume u talking about PL) unless u government servant and can get loan with ultra low interest rate. Just PAY AS MUCH AS YOU CAN every month. If u want detailed calculation/explanation, e-mail/PM me on FB I explain to u. This post has been edited by Pink Spider: Oct 16 2013, 11:49 AM |

sign up to a new credit card that offers interest free balance transfer say for 12 months. from then on, put both cards in the freezer. make regular repayments. thaw your cards after you have repaid the outstanding balance!

QUOTE(ghoss @ Oct 16 2013, 11:14 AM) Hi, Yes it is possible with consequences:just want to ask , if it's possible to convert credit card debt into a loan without going to AKPK ? 1) If the bank has installment plan eg. Citi Flexi Payment Program (FPP), then balance can be converted to installment plan with interest charged. OR 2) If the bank does not have one, then the card will be "restructure" under collection terms; i.e. card being cancelled, and converted into term loan where CCRIS record will be tarnished as a tagging will be introduced in one's CCRIS report to denote the facility is a "restructured" account hence viewd negatively by most banks. So if one can still afford to pay, then it is still best to go with Balance Transfer programs out there. I believe many BT programs offered nowadays have fixed installment plans for the balance converted. This post has been edited by b00n: Oct 16 2013, 02:14 PM |

Does late payment for a few days shows in the CCRIS record ? |

I believe it all depends on how the bank reports their data to CCRIS. Some might show but some might not.
eg: Statement date on 5th every month. Reporting to BNM on 10th (example). One pays on 7th. So some bank reports to BNM to say the customer missed 1 payment since the payment was due on 5th. But some bank since reporting is on 10th, and the customer paid on 7th; so by the 10th when they submit the report it is deemed as no missed payment. So I would say it varies from bank to bank. |
