I'm thinking of applying the Hong Leong Visa Signature since they lowered the income requirement to 80k. How much is their annual fee by the way? I can't seem to find at their website.

Also there's no option to apply for this card online sad.gif Need to walk-in?
*
The HLB VS annual fee is RM800. First year free. Posted it in my table for Premier Credit Cards.

To ALL: I am so freaking mad with UOB for changing the automatic annual fee waiver to 60 swipes. Click on below link to read my article about me and my UOB non-Preferred Plat.

UOB Credit Cards - Why You Force Me To Beg You?

**Edited**
To get auto annual fee waiver:

Classic Card Minimum 60 swipes per year. No minimum for any single month.
Plat cards Minimum 1 swipe per month and total 60 swipes/year.

After 2 months of waiting, HSBC finally announced the benefit of their Premier World MasterCard and Visa Signature.

Same 5X points at Mid Valley, Gardens and several other places but the maximum amount eligible for the 5X points was increased by RM500 to RM1,500 for this year.

For overseas dining and hotel bills, the amount was also increased by RM500 to RM2K but it is now 10X points smile.gif

And airmiles conversion 3000 Reward Points = 1000 Airmiles

Click below link to read my article and see if you agree with me that having the HSBC Premier Credit Cards are just for shiok sendiri tongue.gif

Actually the HSBC Premier WMC does grant free access to some airport lounge somewhere on planet earth but not Malaysia airport lounges.

Interesting to note that CIMB VS has removed its complimentary GSC ticket as one of its signature rewards.
*
CIMB got 60,000 premier card holders as reported by rockfeller, previous promo included Gold Glass at GSC where Supp cards also enjoy the 1 for 1 Free movie ticket. When I go to GSC I can get up to 3 FREE tickets previously at GSC with my wife and son having supp cards. I am sure CIMB spent quite a lot on the FREE tickets and therefore decided to abandon this promo. Actually the Gold Class FREE ticket towards the end of the last year was removed.

OCBC don't know what they got themself into by offering FREE tickets for any class, luckily for them, the promo expire mid year.

Just wondering after the bank charged me membership fee, and they insist not to waive it, will I still need to pay that if I cancel my card?

It is Citibank.
*
For Citibank, I guess No if you don't have any outstanding balance and did not use the card after the anniversary date. FOr me usually I cancel the card before the anniversary date so no need waste time following up if they happen to charge me.

Do not know about JPJ but you can certainly pay road tax with Visa/MasterCard through MyEG online (Note: Amex is not accepted).

Speaking of which, AIA at Jalan Ampang accepts Amex fyi.
*
JPJ do accept credit cards smile.gif You guys can always call and ask if the nearest JPJ branch accept credit cards.

Wow! AIA accept AMEX, that is good even if it is only at Jln Ampang. Thanks for the info.

Good rating overall but you need to give 3 stars to OCBC Ti for cashback! tongue.gif
There is a tie for number 2 spot, so there should be no number 3 right?

p/s the new right column is a neat idea
*
Bro, I gave OCBC TMC 4 Stars for Cash Back which is 1 more than yours tongue.gif 2 for local spending and 2 for petrol biggrin.gif

Well, I guess you are right as for no No.3. But how how still got 10 cards in the list, also the No.4 position coincides with the picture of my wife's card ending with No.4, haha

Wanted to put in left column too but when zoom in to read (for half blind people like me), it blocks my post.

Gen-X bro, are you sure SCB VI offers only medical insurance but no travel insurance?

I saw this:
Enjoy Complimentary Travel Medical Insurance coverage up to RM50,000 with at least 1 transaction made on your credit card during your overseas trip.
Complimentary Travel & Medical Insurance*  Principal Cardmember only
1. Medical Expenses
a. Dental                          Up to RM500/-
b. Medical Treatment  Up to MYR50,000 per Insured (Below 70 years old)
Up to MYR25,000 per Insured (70 years old and above)
2. Delayed Baggage  Up to RM1,000
3. Purchase Protection  Up to RM10,000
4. Travel Assistance Services  Up to RM100,000
*
Yah lah Chem, I also only read what you posted above where they only offer Delayed Baggage. There is no Accident or Death Benefits, Loss of Limbs, Missed Flights, Loss of Baggage, Delayed Flight and others which is offered to lower ranked SCB credit cards!

Having said the above, I still always to get a third party Travel Insurance even if my credit card that I used to buy the air tickets offers some Travel Insurance.

i want to apply a credit card im with no credit record, not owing bank any money except a car loan promptly.
Contributing EPF base on RM6,000 basic since Jan 2012.

Do i need to wait 3 months pay slip? or is there any bank tat does not require such long time?
Do i have to pay tax and show the receipt? i saw maybank T&C stating
i need this as well
Which means i will pay year 2011 tax base on 72k P.A after reduction blabla... then with this few months pay slip to get a card.
*
1. Why don't you approach the bank you have car loan with?
2. Three months pay slip very long? More like you are impatient tongue.gif It won't kill you to wait till April right?
3. I bit blur on your 2011 tax thingy statement. Well, if you do have income in 2011, you should be submitting your BE tax form soon, so do it today and submit to IRB and you can go apply for a credit card with it tomorrow.

is there any rule of thumb on the max credit limit for a credit card based on annual income? my current credit limit is 1.5x my monthly income and i wanna see how much i can request to increase the limit...
*
if your income is less than RM36K/year, max CL is 2X your monthly salary. If above RM36K/year, then you can go request whatever amount you want but subjected to the bank's approval.

idk, the banker told me until end of March 2012, BNM's RM50 fee will be waived for new card application.

Most credit card issuers nowadays offer to absorb the 1st year RM50GST. And for your information, all the bank staff are pressured to get new customers for credit cards. And the UOB One Card is great for petrol up to RM600 and that is about it. You only earn miserable 0.3% for general transactions. Not only that, they have new stupid requirement in order to get annual fee waived, need to swipe 60 times a year! Got to waste time calling UOB to request for annual fee waiver. Click here to read my article - UOB Credit Card - Why You Force Me To Beg You?

Has anyone focus on loan from credit cards?

I know that Stan. Chart. has this Cheque On Call feature, which allow quick loan from the CL with attractive interest rate.

How about others like Maybank or CIMB?
*
Focus is like a positive word and just does not sounds right when referring to loans. Focus on how to make more money so no need loan from credit card more appropriate tongue.gif

And what is so good about the SCB Cheque On Call? Interest rate? Any upfront fees? Duration?

AmBank has revised their minimum late charge of RM10 instead of RM5 as of Mar 1, 2012.

http://www.ambankgroup.com/en/Personal/Car...IslamicBank.pdf

Wonder if other banks do have the same? They also did not give any grace period. If your due date is Mar 28, they will charge late charges on Mar 29.
*
Above was mentioned here some time back in February/March. Besides AmBank, Citibank and HSBC also raised the late payment penalty fee. I also posted a short posts at my wordpress blog where I gave link to the respective banks site in new interest rates and late penalty charges.

AmBank, Citibank and Hong Leong Bank Raised Outstanding Balance Interest rates.

HSBC is also hiking Outstanding Balance Interest Rates.

Been following the last couple of days/weeks post and I don't understand why people are making such a fuss about banks raising the late payment penalty fees.
The fees is only applicable to those who pay their credit card bills late and it'll be especially troubling for habitual late paymasters coz it will hurt them the most - their pockets.
*
+1

Anyway for those of us who don't have outstanding balance, if accidentally pay late or because of technical error, it will be waived anyway, at least for my case where I often forget to sign my cheques on something to do with the date doh.gif
