QUOTE(maru @ Mar 22 2012, 05:42 PM) hi guys, got a question here My due date on 9/3/2012 which fall on friday, if i made my payment on 11/3/2012 which is Sunday, do i get charge for late payment n interest? This what happen my due was 3k, 2k payment made on sunday, statement came n charge me rm35 if not mistaken based on 3k instead of the remaining balance 1k. anyone care to clarify ? CS told me they charge me based on 3k not after the amount i paid. no late charges on my statement The above is correct. There is a 3 day grace period for late payment charges AND interest if you paid the statement balance in full. If you do not, you only get late payment charges waived for payment above minimum. Interest is charged based on statement amount from the transaction dates of each individual transaction up to full payment for the transaction or due date of next statement, whichever comes first. Including compound interest, the amount due can be much bigger than expected.

QUOTE(Kitty Zhang @ Apr 19 2012, 01:48 PM) Added on April 19, 2012, 1:51 pmLesson learnt :( Since buying casino chips is specifically stated at the back of your statement as a cash advance transaction, it does not really matter whether Genting staff was in the wrong or not. Escaping in the past from this T&C doesn't mean you will always be able to escape indefinitely.

QUOTE(hye @ May 17 2012, 04:25 PM) 2. (However do note that all banks T&C require the cardholder to sign on the slip or the transaction is not valid) This point is not accurate as there are multiple CNP (Card Not Present) scenarios which are legit and the cardholder is expected to pay. Easiest example of a CNP scenario are internet transactions. The signature is not mandatory and the transaction is still valid.

QUOTE(cannavaro @ Jun 16 2012, 11:10 AM) I thought the current policy is; you will only be charged interest if you missed the due date by 2 days? Wasn't this implemented by BNM? The latest ABM policy is no late fees if payment received/clears after 3 days from due date, which does not necessarily mean the same as no interest charged. As per the example, different banks interpreted the policy differently. Basically if you are not sure, just pay before the due date. http://www.abm.org.my/upload/Further%20rel...dit%20cards.pdf

QUOTE(saksoba @ Jun 18 2012, 08:35 PM) Yes. that's what I'm planning to do. It purely for BT and I might keep the card in my lock. heh. So, assume my debt float between 5k - 6k (keep using) in debt and my minimum payment is 250. If I pay promptly every month 500 (my debt still floating cause I'm using it), do I still fall i 13.5 or 17.5? I never miss my payment (Rm500) before due date. [attachmentid=2900618] I dont think I quite understand table above :help: Lower retail interest for prompt repayment is simply defined as minimum payment received on or before due date. If you are new, you have no record and are placed in the highest tier. Upon reaching the first anniversary, your tier is adjusted based on your payment pattern in the preceding 12 months.

QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Sep 22 2012, 08:51 PM) at risk of offending a dear MODERATOR, I would like to ask, especially since he's From: 서울, South Korea, "DO U EVEN STAY IN MALAYSIA? DO U HAVE LAYMEN FRIENDS? all your posts sound like u live in a perfect world, living by the laws and standards but the real world is NOT that straightforward." So I hold a card from XXX Bank, does that rob me of the right to have doubts and ask questions? I DON'T SEE THIS AS BEING HYPROCRITICAL. You asked an open-ended question (regarding credit card and touching on banking system safety) with no absolute answers. I feel you are not having doubts per se but seeking reassurance that other people share the same concerns you have. I'm sure everyone here have the same concerns. But saying you have serious doubts and continuing to use the facilities does not jive with your position.

QUOTE(cHaRsIeWpAu^^ @ Oct 11 2013, 06:39 PM) hi everyone, can i know the term 'swipe' can be meaning we make one transaction on internet? or literately we need to 'swipe' physically to be defined as 'swipe' from banks? It applies to all normal OTC credit card and CNP online transactions. Might or might not include special kinds of transactions like instalments, balance transfers, cash advance, etc. Refer to your credit card T&C for the full definition that applies for your card.
