I think you can clarify with the bank first and see how they treat it.
If they claim that is cash, then probably you would want to dispute it.

Years ago I did a Cash Advance...I remember on the slip would state "Cash" or something similar...the slip I have now is "Credit Sales"...which I presume = Retail

Do you have an invoice of the payment description (itemised) from Genting ?
This invoice would have the date/time, payment method (i.e. CC number) and approval code, which can be use to dispute the charge as Cash Advance.
BTw, which credit card did you use ?

The bill/invoice I've thrown, but I still have the credit card printout slip which has all the approval code, amount, date etc

I'm using UOB ONE card. Who in right mind would think about the posting date? If u state "From 27th March 2012 onwards...", any layman also would take it that if u swipe on 26th it would be ok

Their merchant bank is Maybank

Never throw away a bill/invoice until you settle the bill at least.

The bill would show the item description to "dispute" your case.
Where did you see the 27th March 2012 onwards message ?

IF they based on Posting Date..... then really sorry for your case. Maybe your "winnings" in Genting could cover the fees ?
UOB is very calculative bank...

That means I have to go up snap photo of Genting's notice? doh.gif
They paste the notice at the casino cage cashier where I bought the Premium Programme.

Nvm lar, worst case just pay. ONE card rebates and cash backs 1 month already got RM20-30, I've been using it for years already.

I believe it's the cashier mistake in using the wrong terminal to swipe your UOB ONE card.

It's depend on the bank. I was on lucky last time when I apply PBB normal credit card, then suddenly I don't want it and I said I want to terminate, immediatly I gave the call to the CS and I cut the card in 1 of the PBB branch, I didn't activate the card and use the card.. I received my first statement that I been charged RM 50 GST but in the same time it's was paid back by PBB itself. But for now,I don't think the bank will absorb the RM 50 on your behalf. Good luck.

Since buying casino chips is specifically stated at the back of your statement as a cash advance transaction, it does not really matter whether Genting staff was in the wrong or not. Escaping in the past from this T&C doesn't mean you will always be able to escape indefinitely.

There was never such statement.

Buying casino chips=/=Buying casino programme which involves free room, buffet and chips

I remember at one time in the MBB2Amex thread people were talking about taking advantage of the MBB2AMEX rebate with the Genting Premium Program for freebies. Maybe those who took advantage of this could share their experience whether the transaction is cash advance or retail.

Before 27th March 2012, consider as Retail Transaction.
After 27th March 2012, consider as Cash Advance.

Problem is KittyZhang swipe on 26th March... So it was a 50/50 chance going either way.

You might need to fill up a new application stating the correct address.

EDIT: Really depending on how strict the bank is

Yap i guess so, I personally use and gain alot of TP from this Premium Program. RM6,000 x 5 = I get 30,000 TP during peak season and RM3,000 x 5 = 15,000 TP during low and shoulder session.

The person should read the GGC thread (Genting/Guerilla Gamblers Club).
Some topics back (last year), there was the Genting Premium Programme for 3k/6k NN chips.
You need to swipe the CC at the correct booth, it was stated in that thread.
If swipe at wrong booth/cashier, it is consider as cash advance.

Nowadays, not sure still available or not.

Hi all sifu, since this is Q&A on credit card thread, I would like to ask something regarding credit card repayment.

Let's say I've owe credit card for an amount of 3K, and I plan to make a repayment for a 500 per month, can bank allow me to do that? I am a customer of Maybank BTW. Is there any suitable plan for me to repay the credit used, in an interest free way? Thanks
