Sorry if I missed this if it has been discussed before but I hope someone can please comment or help answer or point me to the post that has had discussed this.

Background info: Got a new UOB credit card in the post. Didn't ask for a new card and my existing account will only expire/to be renewed in June 2012.

Process: Had to call the service center to have it activated. Done.

Issue: Was told that the new T&C for the annual fees to be waived are to
1. use the card AT LEAST once in each calendar month
2. total annual card transaction MUST be AT LEAST RM36,000.00

Questions: Has anyone been informed of this new T&C as well? Is this a UOB only thing or other CC companies have imposed this as well.

Thanks

Don't like it, cut if off and tell them the reason is Crazy waiver conditions

Not legal as they are bounded by BAFIA Act.

Documents requirement for CC application defers from bank to bank, if you have provided yours I think the best is to contact the bank customer service and see if they can provide you a reason for rejecting your app.

Do you have your monthly salary bank in to Maybank?
If so, you can try apply for Maybank 2 card.

Your income 30k before EPF is sufficient.

The credit card offerings from public bank not very attractive. You should try for better ones.

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2311960

This guy smsbusiness2U started a new thread on BT and copied contents and links in my article titled Credit Card Balance Transfer 2012 - Gone is the best 0% Interest Free Loan. and claim credit for it. I have specifically mentioned in my article that one is not to reproduce any part of my article. mad.gif vmad.gif

The first time they said it could be because i did not include my ea form and epf statement, so upon the advice of the cimb customer service, i submitted all the documents required only to be rejected a second time, calling the centre only gets me an answer that i don't meet their credit criteria.

unfortunately my monthly salary goes into cimb, but i bank in myself as i receive the pay cheque from my employer.. i currently don't have a maybank acc..

my latest try is with hsbc bank, but yet to receive answer...

however, the credit card promoter said it could be hard to get approval for me as i have no record of being able to pay a loan.. eg: a car loan which is paid monthly...

is this indeed the case? man, i never thought that not having a loan can be such a problem.. rclxub.gif

I never paid a loan and MBB approved of my card.

Open a BSA account with maybank and request for option 2 with free ATM card.

Initial deposit is Rm20.

Then start depositing ur cheque into this account.
After 3-4 months, you can show the bank that your salary is stable.

Then try apply with maybank.

I believe it's based on Merchant Category Code of the EDC terminal which your card was swipe on.
Did you see the cashier swipe your credit card ? Did he do a retry on different EDC terminal ?

Years ago I did a Cash Advance...I remember on the slip would state "Cash" or something similar...the slip I have now is "Credit Sales"...which I presume = Retail

Just go to maybank and open an account.

Also, see if your boss can just do salary bank in to MBB instead of issuing you cheque.

Maybank seems okay in terms of the CC application.
