Any filter is usable as long as its thread size is 49mm. You can always just get the camera first and filters later, go survey online for different brands/alternatives so you'll roughly know how much to expect and not get chopped by shop.

btw, here's a lion dance video shoot, with NEX5N, 1080p, handheld, edited with Windows Movie Maker. enjoy! tongue.gif

Shot with kit lens? 25p or 50p? I must say 5N can take good pics and good videos, btw your heads very steady, much better than mine:P

RM150 -ilens...Also not cheap bcos I found out later got RM50 close up lens too  sad.gif
The hoya +4 macro lagi teruking - RM200!!  cry.gif
*
Not trying to be mean or anything, but RM150 for iLens is rather expensive... Quality should be more or less equivalent to Octopus only sweat.gif

Expect at least ~RM1k for the EVF and ~RM500 for OVF, I've asked a few shops in Gurney last time.

Most shops sell filters at high prices, or even accs. like lenspen, blowers, etc. for that matter, buying online is cheaper provided you can wait just a day or two biggrin.gif There are quite a number of sellers in the Garage Sales section, can have a look there. UV filter just for protection lor because digital sensors are not prone to the effects of UV like films, unless you're talking about CPL, IR, ND, star, etc. filters for effects. Octopus should be more or less a typical/generic brand, surely can't compare with expensive ones laugh.gif

By the way, here's how a cheap filter can ruin your image especially in night shots. I cincai-cincai take for comparison, so please forgive the "cincainess" tongue.gif Should be easy to tell which has a filter and which does not.

You sure it's original? A lot of fake Kenko, Hoya, and even B+W floating around on eBay, especially from sellers based in Hong Kong and China sweat.gif Agree with you on the 2nd part, used to have a UV filter for protection when my toy is still sparkling new... Now ady biasa liao and know how to handle with care, removed all.

Dude, not sure if that is a sensitive picture or not, and whether advisable to be posted here like this. A little more discretion and sensitivity would be welcome.

Bear in mind there are many other persons with different beliefs that share this thread.

Yeah I know it's expensive compare to Octopus X10 ~ RM50 nia..Well, this is called impulsive buying..beh tahan liao and that day that shop selling Octopus at Millenium Square closed..and I kenot stand so I check out the fames LYN seller in Digital Mall Sec14...As he is reputable and telling me ilens is similar to kenko & Hoya & from Korea..so I trusted him lor.. sad.gif ..furthermore X10 for what I paid for a X4..I think berbaloi lor haha.. ANyway happy wth the result..weekend gonna spam more macro pictures.. now testing wth my buddy SEL16F28.. Well, I think still prefer the zoom lens pairing wth maro filters..Dun really like the pancake. sad.gif

BTW, what cincai filter you used to compare wth a better filter hmm.gif ..I also saw the thread created by IeR on filter and he compare B&W wth Hoya if I'm not mistaken..Even that also got diff liao haha

There are pictures of mosques and weddings of all cultures and religions - so really, I don't see what is so sensitive about the picture.
