Yeap.. Now I am in Midgar working in a flower shop where I aspire to get into Shinra HQ research lab but seems like its tough. .. hahaha.. Anwyay I'd decided to try for another half a year.. If no hope.. then I will go back to gongaga and work in the Shinra minor lab then get enough experience and try again.. Or might go another FF universe instead.. haha...

Min a Good PhD from Good Uni for research jobs in SG.  Experience and quality work a must to be selected for interview.

So if you want to stick to research jobs, try Malaysia.
*
Yeap... But not without trying it out for another half a year or so.. Anyway atleast I can get an extra skill set.. lol..Thanks for the reply..

I'll go back Malaysia first.

You're free to change job in Malaysia as you see fit so that you can have more professional skill and professional ASAP. Then only you travel to Singapore for big bucks.

Anyway now it's also the time where you need to research the expat demand in Singapore for your job and industry.

U have a point.. thanks! biggrin.gif

Just read this, is this happening in your work place?

All I can say is that my entire section of about ~100 people there are only like 15 singaporeans/malaysians and the rest are from <insert country here>.

Quite different for MNCs. There are only 3 reasons why they set up big orgns in Sg. It's either talent availability, structural freedom or cost advantage.

Sg is cost disadvantaged. So that's out.

It's only talent availability and structural freedom. Both of which where a large employee pool driven by the freedom of corporates to bring people in and out is critical.

What Singaporeans seem to be forgetting is that they have no ability to consume what they produce. It is the families and home countries of the so-called foreign trash who buy their shit. Singapore can't even replenish its ranks of employees, much less grow the domestic market.

They talk a lot of crap about their public amenities being overloaded by foreigners. Without these foreigners, Singapore's economy would be a less than half the size it is now, and half of these amenities won't exist in the first place.

So yeah they'll b**** and whine, but there can't be any drastic change unless Singaporeans accept the reality that the economy will be smaller, there will be less high income jobs and opportunities and Singapore will have to punch well below its current weight class in terms of negotiation power.

Some Singaporeans fail to realize that a good number of their countrymen (especially of the younger set) are incredibly fussy when it comes to job selection e.g. refuse to work in places like Tuas or Kranji because they are deemed too far and too "ulu", disdain for engineering jobs as they prefer the much better paying banking, consulting and professional legal sectors, shun jobs which have extensive travel or overseas placement for long periods of time and so on.

Anyone owns a Singaporean bank credit card? (POSB/DBS)
Is there any cons to use it in Malaysia compare to using a Malaysia local bank credit card?

The FX rate you get from MYR to SGD won't be that great.

Malaysians are mild mannered?   laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

Take a drive on Malaysian roads and see what sort of mannerisms are being displayed by the mat rempits and the tailgaters not to mention the road rage parang and baseball bat wielders!

When you said this, does it means that you have personally experience all this or just read from the media? I have driven on the Malaysian road for more than 20 years, i have not experience once on the tailgaters or road rage parang and basebal bat wielders.....

My Singaporean friends once said:
Malaysian drivers: extremely fast but safe.
Singaporean drivers: moderately fast but reckless.

My personal experience for 25 years in Malaysia: tailgaters yes, just stay out of their way. Road rage parang baseball bat wielders No. I've got golf club in my trunk all the time, does that makes me a golf club wielder? tongue.gif
