Why are you dyslexic when it comes to English all of a sudden?
It was entertaining the first time or two. Now, it's just irritating.

maybe he's been spending too much time in /k/. I notice that tendency too, after lurking and trolling in /k/ for a while, your brain suffers a temporary drop in IQ, and you tend to carry over the /k/ posting style to other parts of the forum too biggrin.gif

Anyway ... wah the SRS scheme actually pretty cool. Seems like a pretty attractive alternative to CPF for those of us who don't plan on taking PR. Some more only need to spend 10years here then can withdraw liao. Hmmmmmmmm.

http://app.mof.gov.sg/data/cmsresource/srs...-%2018Feb11.pdf

Did some quick calculations, overall over 10-11 years you can save around the region of 10-20% of your taxes to the government, but only if you ensure your withdrawals fit the 50% tax rebate conditions. Otherwise you end up paying a lot more tax.

different mang. mobile broadband you can use it for google maps to search driving, bus and train directions, etc etc. ~$11 per day is nothing, I'll gladly pay that amount to have that kind of convenience when you're on holiday in a foreign place.

eh ... nolah the abalone was real. just ... very small. the 'possibly fake' part was just referring to the sharks fin; nowadays restaurants like to use these 'vegetarian' ones.

That's too broad a question.

IT managers in banks earn more than their counterparts in say, logistic MNCs.

A VP (manager rank equivalent) in a foreign bank in Singapore pulls in around SGD150k - 200k per annum (excluding bonuses).

VP is already middle management, no? The foreign bank I work in, entry-level managers only pull in somewhere around half of that.

anyone knows what bus (SIN-KUL) has wifi access on board?

The other day i go back KL for national day long weekend i saw one bus with big words "WIFI ON BOARD"

http://www.odysseynow.com.my/book_connectivity.aspx

QUOTE
All Odyssey coaches are WiFi enabled with speed up to 3.6Mbps so you can carry on your business uninterrupted while on board*. This service is provided free. Moreover, we have sturdy tables that can support your laptop and also power points to recharge them with.

*To use the service you will need a wireless enabled laptop or hand held device and the speed of service is on a best-effort basis

No idea how good or bad this wifi is of course.

i think 1 month commission from landlord. he said he only gets agent fee from landlord side not tenant.

If only one agent representing both landlord and tenant, landlord pays entire fee mah, no meh?

I thought this double fee thing is normally cos there are two agents, one representing tenant, one prepresenting landlord?

Yah I know, I just shorten some of the procedure such as getting a sponsor to assist me for the long term visa application, but that shouldn't be any problem since I got relatives and friends who are either citizen or PR staying in Singapore and they agree to be my sponsor.

EPEC no need sponsor. Just need to go online and apply for your 1-year LTVP (long term visit pass), choose the EPEC option, upload your documents, wait 2-3 weeks. Then you will get your IPA for the LTVP with which you make online appointment to go get your 1-year validity LTVP card.

[edit] any of you guys know if the 6-months validity on passport applies for us WP holders?

I have a housemate who managed to go to johor and back with less than 6 months validity on his passport.
PS: Do on your own risk.

Hmmmmmm. Over at the travel&living section there are people saying they could enter with < 6 months as visitor but with some additional steps - apparently a senior immigration officer had to come over and approve his entry. But that is visitor lah ... for WP holders ... dunno whether it applies. My passport validity period is like 8 months now, guess I gotta plan a trip to KL or JB to renew.

QUOTE(kinwing @ Aug 25 2011, 11:53 AM)
Mind to explain more on single or multiple entries? From my understanding, single entry means I can only enter Sg 1 time with the visa, and next time the visa can no longer being used even it is not expired, whereby multiple entries mean I could enter Sg as many times as I could within the permitted period.

Malaysians no need Visa.

QUOTE(kinwing @ Aug 25 2011, 12:14 PM)
Thanks for clarification. I think I did not read carefully for how to apply for LTVP. About the online appointment for LTVP, will it be an interview when I go to collect the LTVP card?

No. Once you have the IPA that means is approved liao. You just go and do fingerprinting and collect card.

just got back from a short 5-day tokyo trip, was awesome! overspent though, 150,000¥ on just food, transport, sightseeing and shopping. Sushi was awesome, I took two trips down to the tsukiji fish market to eat biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Anyway to stay on topic, if any of you are gamers, I found this nice shop at Tampines Mall that sells pretty cheap 2nd hand games. I picked up mgs4 and some other random game (ps3) for like $35 for both.

Nice. Whats the name of the shop?

QUOTE(crapp0 @ Sep 2 2011, 10:47 PM)
I bieleve its the "game store" at tampines  mall.

Been there when im visiting and the prices are competitive.

You could also try gametrader.sg for 2nd hand games and forgo the middlemen shops and deal with the respective buyer directly.

I've gotten most of my games this way and i've never pay'd more then 35 dollars on a 2nd hand game

Yah, that's the one. Quite nice leh, MGS4 $19, super worth it.

QUOTE(totti 10 @ Sep 3 2011, 04:15 PM)
that is one big expensive sushi
can actually see by different of texture of that maguro(??)
anyway tsukiji market is like the most famous n biggest raw fish market in japan
i really miss eating good sushis in japan
sigh

eh ... in my opinion tokyo food is on par price-wise with singapore food leh. For example just now lunch I go Fish & Co eat one fish n chips and drink already sgd21 = 1300Yen. If you look around in tokyo ... got rice bowl places at 300-400yen (sgd5-6), and lower-end restaurants also around 1000-1500yen (sgd15-25) ...

... but having said that, oh maaaaan the おまかせ set at sushi dai and daiwa sushi at tsukiji was wub.gif drool.gif wub.gif especially the oo- and chuu-toro ... come back here cannot get liao sad.gif
