QUOTE(bellion @ Nov 10 2011, 05:06 PM) Personal experience and from what you read in the papers. Are you trying to imply that such cases do not happen in Malaysia? We do read from papers that such cases did happen, but not as rampant as you described it earlier, sounds like go on the street and can see all this happening so easily. also, such cases also happened in many other countries as well and not particulary in malaysia...

Among their kind they can get things done,,, quite scary but that's the way the cake is baked these days.... Shouldnt you be more concerned with their capabilities rather then where they come from? Added on November 11, 2011, 8:16 amQUOTE(Mackiddo @ Nov 10 2011, 09:26 PM) Adobe gave up Flash for mobile yesterday. HTML5 is a more superior format. Which sites are predominantly on HTML5 as opposed to flash content? Gonna be a major upheaval to port from flash to HTML5 since the industry has been using flash for so many years, its akin to singaporean employers hiring foreigners over their own countrymen. But it would be better since flash for the mobile performance to power consumption ratio is terrible compared to HTML5. This post has been edited by crapp0: Nov 11 2011, 08:23 AM

Never did I say it's happening in front of your eyes all the time. However, it does happen regularly enough to warrant alarm amongst drivers and pedestrians - throw in the car jackers and the snatch thiefs and you got a more tangled mess. Trying to justify that such crimes exist in other countries is exactly what the UMNO defenders like to do - make excuses to justify the pathetic state of affairs when it's their own fault. In comparison to Singapore, these violent incidences and crime occur FAR more regularly in Malaysia conducted by so-called mild mannered Malaysians.

Problem with flash is they never bother to enable hardware acceleration until recently when it's already too late. Even the hardware acceleration is only for video playback. Running everything off the CPU just makes it a resource hog. HTML5 is not much better today from resource usage standpoint depending on browser. It all depends on how much effort browser vendors (and/or OS vendors) are willing to put it to optimize HTML5 vs just making it work. Some may even purposely cripple performance to push their own agenda on mobile platforms.

Can't give you direct comparisons cos a "Manager" title can vary widely in responsibility, ranking and payscale. The bank I work in, the entry-level manager-equivalent ranking is about $6k/mth.

QUOTE(r1v3r @ Nov 8 2011, 04:50 PM) Erm...I tot your son will have to do NS now even without being a citizen. (I am assuming he is sponsored by you to be a PR). Yes but he still has to decide for himself before he reach 18. When he is more mature, I'll let him make the decision and take responsibility. Added on November 8, 2011, 3:11 pm But, are you going to leave your kids bhind? Most likely they will be studying in Sg right? They are in SG childcare now, plan to put them in a primary school in JB and we travel to SG for work. After Pri 4 then decide which secondary school system to take. We always wanted the family to stay together especially when the kids are younger. We are rare parent that send their kids to "overseas" school but we are not SG elite. answer in BlueRiver, That is what I am doing now with my kids. Nevertheless, when they reach Std 4 or 5, it will be a challenge for them to catch up on Singapore's education if you decide to let them go with Singapore's syllabus. The gap between SG and MY education is a bit too big. One of my friend sent their kids to Foon Yew previously and they have to look for schools in SG to admit them. After that, the kids really struggled through std 5 and std 6. They shared with me to start them on early as the gap between the two education systems is wide.

QUOTE(crapp0 @ Nov 11 2011, 02:24 PM) Malaysia very relax and not as demanding as the typical singapore work environment. Malaysia actually only work 4.5 days a week. On Fridays, 11.30am.. many already out of office. Then take 1.5 hrs for masjid prayers, 30 mins to clean-up after masjib and another 1 hr for lunch. Then return to office at 3.00pm... Do another 1.5 hrs until 4.30pm.. then can go home. Bye..!! Malaysia nowadays alot of office got practice every Friday office close 1 hr earlier than normal day.

My job in Malaysia is a lot more hectic than present too mainly due to difference on company culture and job scope.
Anyway IMO Singapore is famous of competitiveness. Malaysia is famous of mismanagement. Both leads to high workload and high stress lol.
