Why are you dyslexic when it comes to English all of a sudden?

It was entertaining the first time or two. Now, it's just irritating.

ah.. sux me still not millionaire yet  doh.gif
i agree on mackiddo in this, can ask what industry u in ?

previously when i was on workpass, my co have a voluntary CPF contribution, mean if i decided to contribute my portion the employer match their share, after a 1 year, i decided to stop as i need the money to roll for my studies.
nowadays they return their portion back to u, ...mean if u have a better use of the money else where then nogo

with the tightenin of the work pass every year, PR offer comfort thou, if u P1 level then different story
but if u bordeline in WP/EP and in attractive industries, SG gov might oust u out and give the job to the local or PRC local hehe sweat.gif
*
Any idea what consist of 'attractive industries'? IT, Engineering? Just curious...

may i know which broadband package are u using? home broadband or wireless broadband? thanks....
Using SingTel Mobile broadband. Not too bad actually. 50GB limit but since i do not download torrent, my average usage a month is about 8GB at most.

You can have a look at this plan:
http://info.singtel.com/personal/communica...obile/data-plan

From time to time, they changed the package. Mine was a SGD31.45/month 30GB limit, 2mbps. This is pure broadband only. The last I checked though, they seems to upgrade mine to 50GB, 7.2mbps. Anyway, since I am using Galaxy Tab to Thether so technically it can go up to 7.2 but it seems to be averaging 2mbps.

Actually you can start to look at what is your surfing pattern first.

Galaxy Tab ? hehe. No one got a HP TouchPad from the recent fire-sale ? I managed to order one at US$101 (imagine it was like US$500 for 16GB version a couple of weeks back  shocking.gif ) and shipped it to my US address. Hopefully they won't cancel the order.
*
Haha... seems that HP is giving up on their WebOS. The problem is that in the future it might be difficult to get application on the TouchPad. However, if they do a firesale on HP Business notebook, that's a different story...

u r using galaxy tab, no wonder only reach 9gb per month...I am using laptop, so i scare it will more than 50GB...I saw starhub is unlimited data bundle, but i trust singtel more than starhub, hard to make decision....><
*
Well, my Galaxy tab also acts as my modem as well. My laptop usually connects to my Galaxy Tab so i do not need to bring the modem everywhere i go. I think it's really difficult to use 50GB if you do not do torrent. Even daily Youtube and listening to music 8 hours daily (96k), I will only use up to about 16 or 17GB.

Well, check the T&C properly. There might be a limit to the unlimited.

So far it seems good for me. If I watch youtube on my laptop, then it might be a bit warm sometimes. However, overall, it seems okay. The only flipside is that the battery drains quite fast though.

It's selling like hotcakes now and I'm sure someone will find a way to make it more interesting, perhaps installing Android on it ? With discount up to 80%,  it's worth it even if i use to to read book, check email and surf net
*
Just curious, actually how did u get it for $101?

One very important thing that you need to find out as well; how is the broadband performance in your room/place. It may be super good in one place but sucks at another. So you will need to find out that information as well. If not, after you sign up for say, 24 months, you will need to start crying.

Previously, this is what I did:
1. Ask around
2. Get a prepaid mobile for the traffic lights and see which one is the best.

I guess in order to get the best signal, there is not much choice but to test it out. Even in Tempines, some area performance might be better than the other. :-).

it look so complicated to register a broadband....haha...
*
No lah blinkblink88, not really difficult. I think you get any broadband, it will work. I think in here we are talking about getting the best speed among all three traffic lights color. Just go to any 7/11 and buy a prepaid broadband and test it out. It do cost money though. It's just like back in Malaysia when choosing Digi, Maxis or Celcom broadband. I will ask around people in my apartment to see which one is the best. So it's the same here as well. Nevertheless, do bear in mind that when there is a football match like English Premier League or last year's World Cup, the performance deteriorated. Maybe a lot of people are streaming football matches.

Yes, you can rent a PO Box in SG. I rented one. I think they will need your fix address and your passport and you can open one.

Its actually 2 hundred units a day for both today and tomorrow. Just went there today at 12pm and its all gone.

Heard from the HP sales person that once the doors for the place opened at 10am, all hell broke loose and people were scrambling to get one.

Luckily you can get it if you pre-ordered when it first came out and they dropped the price to the fire-sale price.

It was crowded just now during lunch time in COMEX. Nevertheless, I think those gadgets after conversion, it's cheaper in Malaysia still....hehehe...

Instead of being upset and disappointed, why don't you continue looking if you want to find a job in Singapore. You will have to look hard to get a job. So maybe it's time to move on to the next opportunity?

OK guys, I did some research on hr consulting firms. Seems like all prefer at least a couple years of relevant working experience. Should fresh grad apply for job adverts that stated they need working experience? Or no chance at all?
*
My suggestion is this....
Find a job locally and start gaining experience. Over the period, continue to update your resume and continue sending. You might get lots of rejection and unsuccessful interviews but keep trying. Also, from my personal experience, going for interview is also considered as an experience itself. You will need to fine tune your answer and I believe with a lot of effort, you will be there.

thumbup.gif

Also, based on my experience, normally the HR consulting firm will side the company instead of the candidate. So maybe you can start to work from that angle. No worry, I think you are ahead of a lot of people who just wish but do not try. Job hunting is a lot of hard work.....
