actually i've got a dilemma.. lol..

I study on things such as research.. but I got a job in singapore as a retail executive and just started work for a day or two.. and I have got a work permit.. The reason I get this job is just so I can find the job that I really wanted in the mean time...

However there are not even one reply from any company I'd applied through the internet since 2 months ago where I got a feeling as though they perceive my qualification, not entirely good enough for them which got me very worried... (I got a Uk degree btw.. just average one.). Instead I'd got some replies in Msia..

Therefore, I was thinking of going back and take up just any research job in Msia just so I have got the experience, because I am afraid that after some time no company will be willing to hire me for new grads will be out by another half a year time, and I do not want to stuck in in this retail industry..

So, I wana ask for advices.. should I just resign and go back in order to find a job just so I can get experiences then come back again where I probably will have better chances in landing on a research job in Singapore? Or I should just wait for awhile before I go back and try again by going up to companies personally requesting for jobs? Cuz I am worried that if I resign this fast it might temper on my record when I wanted to work next time..

Can anyone please help me ASAP? Thank you!

Yeap.. Now I am in Midgar working in a flower shop where I aspire to get into Shinra HQ research lab but seems like its tough. .. hahaha.. Anwyay I'd decided to try for another half a year.. If no hope.. then I will go back to gongaga and work in the Shinra minor lab then get enough experience and try again.. Or might go another FF universe instead.. haha...

Min a Good PhD from Good Uni for research jobs in SG.  Experience and quality work a must to be selected for interview.

So if you want to stick to research jobs, try Malaysia.

I'll go back Malaysia first.

You're free to change job in Malaysia as you see fit so that you can have more professional skill and professional ASAP. Then only you travel to Singapore for big bucks.

Anyway now it's also the time where you need to research the expat demand in Singapore for your job and industry.

totally agreed. HR feedback to me on this of a candidate was intended to sign the offer letter after offering & they do know the work location at 1st when apply through job advertisement. then the candidate rejected bcos of above reasons that you mentioned especially "Tuas". what is more our company provides engaged free shuttle bus for morning pick up from certain interchange point to office and free bus from office after work.

1 of our singaporean managers also commented himself no more singaporeans at these new generations like his old time able and will take up jobs at plant or just walk under sun for maybe 10-15 minutes. he got no choice but to take foreigners until the quota reach. 2 singaporeans were hired few months ago, the 2nd day leaving without any notice to our HR or inform their supervisor and with taking away PPE and coveralls which were supplied to them on the 1st day of work.

actually... the "far" in their terms are always very near to me.. lol.. More so when they do not need to drive to work or meet the ever increasing road rages...Hence, as long as I do not need to drive for 2 hours then yea..

But sad to hear their change of wind though.. Most of us if given a place with opportunity.. We work hard.. Since they want us not.. Then that is their lost..
