Just called the CS to use my 10k TP to offset my VISA GST. It takes about 7-10 days to be reflected. Hopefully it works, else I'll pay first.
Is that OK if I were to leave my terminated Master Card in Maybank2U? I have advised them to remove it from the list, despite numerous reminders, it is still there... But they have confirmed the card is no longer usable. In fact I have already destroyed the card. |

QUOTE(tifosi @ Aug 1 2011, 08:49 PM) Are you sure it is a feature on the clear card? I don't think so. I think it is a promo only. If it is then I will probably apply one just for the coffee. Source: http://www.citibank.com.my/english/docs/pd...ar/tnc_cbtl.pdfhttp://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1813751 But yeah, I agree that it is very unprofessional for them to do so. Subject to these Terms and Conditions, with effect from 5th October 2010 and until further notice, each principal or supplementary holder of the Citibank Clear credit card issued in Malaysia (“Citibank Clear Card“) (“Citibank cardmember”) who purchases a “CBTL Drink” (defined to mean a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf drink served in a cup, glass or bottle with a “Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf” logo) at any of the following participating “The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf“ stores in Malaysia using a Citibank Clear Card will receive one free CBTL Drink of the Citibank cardmember’s choice which is of an equal or less value. The free CBTL Drink is not exchangeable for cash, credit or kind whether in part or in full. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 2 2011, 09:00 AM) Thanks for the advice. In that case I'll pay first and later it will be debited back to my account right? U can choose to pay 1st or if u don't mind calling the customer service. They can reverse any finance charges incurred for you later.I just checked. I only got RM 17.61. Out of 5 weekends, I only spent in 2 weekends. Yes, it will debit to your account when they have processed your request. QUOTE(andyfriends @ Aug 2 2011, 10:44 AM) i wonder if the GST redemption can be done for another card. Yes. Actually if you see other countries credit card marketing plans especially in Europe or US, most of them have this type of promotion and it's daily as well.As long as u have the points. It should be a yes. Added on August 2, 2011, 10:45 am who wouldnt? 5x + 5% wor.. even if during weekday i am superb happy too I got max RM50 rebate this month as well. But a bit sad as I did not expect to do a big transaction at the end of the month that would have gotten me this RM50 rebate easily. I had about RM30++ rebate before making this transaction. Could have maxed out the cash rebate for my other card. Sigh... |

QUOTE(timetravelller @ Aug 2 2011, 11:27 AM) Vincent Tan should be happy because more sales volume for them.I believe even if it is buy 1 free 1 promotion, Maybank is absorbing the costs for us. I don't think Starbucks is so generous. So basically Maybank is the one can't take it anymore. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 2 2011, 11:32 AM) Vincent Tan should be happy because more sales volume for them. Totally agree with you. It won't be Vincent Tan paying for all the free drinks we got in the past few months. Maybank was the one footing the bills. The joy was cut short but still, thank you Maybank I believe even if it is buy 1 free 1 promotion, Maybank is absorbing the costs for us. I don't think Starbucks is so generous. On the other hand, can any of you please confirm once again that the 5% weekend cash rebate for MBB2 AMEX is based on posting date or transaction date ? I'm talking about those transactions made overseas because i am already sure that for those transactions made locally, it is based on the transaction date. I just checked my M2U and i did not get the 5% rebate for the purchases i made on 30 July & 31 July in Bangkok. To add insult to injury, the exchange rate was high This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Aug 2 2011, 12:28 PM |

QUOTE(DM3 @ Aug 2 2011, 12:42 PM) The general consensus is no, as there are many who can swipe overseas without informing the bank. However, I would always recommend to make a local call to CS before you fly off to notify them. It is always better in case your overseas transactions are declined. Or worse, you want to check out from hotel and stuck, while you are rushing for an important meeting or flight home. Then you have to make international roaming calls back to MY CC-banks. Can you imagine the stress, costs, extra time, etc. as compared to a simple local call ? |

Ah ha, since we are on this topic then it is just a perfect time to voice out my question.
I have this Flickr account (online photo album) and will expire in 2 weeks time, I just got the reminder for it. In the past I was using my CIMB DA to pay it. Since I have an AMEX card now and would like to fully utilise it. So when should I pay in order to get the 5% rebate? The transaction is by online and in the past my account was activated immediately after I keyed in my cards details. |
