You guys must understand that since March 2011, BNM ruling is that for those earning less than RM36K, the CL cannot be more than 2X your monthly salary. So unlike last time, card issuers will increase your CL based on your usage or when one request, nowadays one got to proof his/her income and banks cannot increase your CL without your consent.

When you got your CIMB card? Did they increase your CL over time? Many card issuers increased their cardholders CL last year hoping to retain their customers. Maybank did increase my CL early this year without me requesting.

As for me, my MBB CL is 10% higher than my CIMB CL. Anyway, I have been holding MBB cards for many years.

for me, mbb raised the limit when they offered me m2card. but still lower compared to other card. still keep it for the 5x points.

So the only way is to declare "additional 7k" to my income tax and lari from this BNM ruling?

Anyway the person at counter say i can use for 6 months then ask for additional CL if my usage is consistently high. Not sure how will it work out though because the minimum CL i need is like 10-20k

will this two days weekend spending be calculated into july's amex rebate?

edit: swipe once just now about 11:00pm. Not yet appear in statement, will it be credited later in the morning?

Dont' worry.. it will be creditted under July 2011 rebate.
Check your M2U on the evening of the 1st/2nd August.

my cimb da CL is 2.1 times of my current mbb2. terminated previous mbb back to year 2009 due to the RM50 tax implementation, just stick to master + visa cimb da.
early this year Feb applied this mbb2 (amex + visa), terminated my cimb da visa, keep cimb da master.

has stick to cimb da since around 6 years ago. if not bcos of the 5X & 5% rebate, will not apply mbb2.

Well they did increase my CIMB CL over time. However, the initial CL I got from CIMB is 8K, which is more than 2.5 times my monthly salary.

Whereas MBB's starting CL is less than 2 times my salary...

I have a question here. Say if my statement date is 28th and if my first card use of the calendar month is on 30th July (weekend) with spending RM1k, and I use another RM1k in August weekends, would I be getting RM50 x 2 for July and August cashback rebate for Amex?

Your statement date will not affect the cash rebate.

To monitor your rebate, you can refer to the online statement.

July rebate will be posted to the online statement by August 2nd and August rebate will be posted by September 2nd.

That is only applicable for AMEX cards under MR system.

MBB2 AMEX is under TP system.

Gen-X, does it mean that TP are transferable to MR?

My new MBB2 Amex they just gave me CL 4K and what if my paid is 39K/year so can I just request 7K CL for this card?
(p/s: Current i also got MBB Petronas with 6K CL but plan to cancel very soon.)

If I not mistaken the credit limit is share within all the Maybank CC (regardless of amex,visa or master)

Coffee Bean's Buy 1 Free 1 is a permanent feature of the Citibank Clear Card.... It was very unprofessional of Maybank/AMEX/Starbucks to cancel the promo midway. they should have honor the 31 Oct expiry date.
