manual tranny has so much potential, but at least CVT provides comfort  tongue.gif

well, at least now maybe it's easier for lancer & others to get halfcut manual tranny, in time  laugh.gif
i thought i read a previous post stating we're only getting semi-syn oil for the free service?

agreed..no clue why mitsu dicided to use CVT on its "Fantastic Sports Machine"
but overseas..there are manual tranny variant for the 2.0 lancer GT
look at the buyers at the price range. 125k and above. majority of them will not wan to drive a manual.

i'm driving a manual now..

it's normal to expect the CVT to lose out a bit on performance in return for easiness, but it can't be THAT bad right?

or is it THAT bad? sweat.gif

Mitsu's CVT is not on par with other brand's CVT such as Nissan's on the slyphyl , even honda jazz's cvt perform better

No 1 want to lend Mitsu DSG technology. If got, then means the lancer will cost you 140k++, a very impactful 10k+ for the dsg.

u kidding? read 1st bro, read 1st

Nissan's CVT is also made by Jatco, which is the same with mitsu whistling.gif

jazz's CVT performs better as there arent any torque converter.

made by the same company doesnt mean the same thing issit? but nevertheless the CVT fails in "The Fantastic Sports Machine"
in the Sylphyl it does not matter coz its design n purpose as a comfort car..

AFAIL, the bottleneck in the Inspira (also Lancer) is the CVT.

bro, i read elsewhere that CVT transmissions, can give variable results when it comes to dyno due to the variable transmission. but im not too sure about this

http://forums.evolutionm.net/lancer-engine...-dyno-list.html

look at the dyno on D..

CVT transmission

kmxxbadboy - 2008 GTS, unknown Fed or PZEV (lives in NJ, so most likely PZEV)
Modifications:NONE

Multiple runs (HP then TQ):
"3rd gear" - 113.89 115.72 & 119.13 118.35
"D" - 126.77 116.59
on DynoJet dynamometer

Make sense since the gear which the dyno are done is the one that has 1:1 ratio with the engine (usually 3rd fro MT and 2 for AT) and since CVT is continuous, the GB will keep changing gears to give it the best ratio. IMO, the correct readout is the one with CVT locked at 3rd gears compared with the D.

I also drove it and can reach 210kmh, how to say? If it is a speed cut, once you reached 180kmh, speedometer will automatically rejected and it will go down and up, it is not speed cut, you just donno how to push it to the max.

I rather drive the 2.0 4b11 Cvt tranny rather than 1.8 manual (4b10) tranny to enjoy a comfortable ride 1st. After 2 years later on, might convert to manual tranny with a BOT.. icon_idea.gif

Fyi, the SA told me that the car are without any speedcut .. cool2.gif
