AFAIL, the bottleneck in the Inspira (also Lancer) is the CVT.

look at the buyers at the price range. 125k and above. majority of them will not wan to drive a manual.

look at the dyno on D..

CVT transmission

kmxxbadboy - 2008 GTS, unknown Fed or PZEV (lives in NJ, so most likely PZEV)
Modifications:NONE

Multiple runs (HP then TQ):
"3rd gear" - 113.89 115.72 & 119.13 118.35
"D" - 126.77 116.59
on DynoJet dynamometer

Make sense since the gear which the dyno are done is the one that has 1:1 ratio with the engine (usually 3rd fro MT and 2 for AT) and since CVT is continuous, the GB will keep changing gears to give it the best ratio. IMO, the correct readout is the one with CVT locked at 3rd gears compared with the D.

based on his story. what i could say is that the battery connection is loose.
this is one of forte owner experience. not a major issue if really connection issue.

when in showroom/car yard, they took out the battery cable. and re-install back during delivery time. but they did not connect them properly. intermittent prob & suddenly car back okay is similar i could say. just tighten back the battery terminal connection will do the job.

hope this is the issue here. so just chill for a while la. wait for his updated news.

Maybe the batteries is Japan spec (the one with small terminal) which tend to loose and even breaks in our climate (several friend who brought back cars from Japan experience this).

Just went an sat/see/touch the Inspira 1.8 (A). IMHO, somehow the 80k price tag is not really justified it, especially the interior, dashboard fitting, steering wheel design and the soft seats (for a sporty sedan?).

Added on November 25, 2010, 6:34 pmBut exterior really nice and IMO, better than Lancer GT. Looks more mature.

Soon or later, the inspira basher/hater/loser will be silented when the car rule the road and soon to be be king of the mod.

Taking a peek into the engine bay, I can see a lot of upgrade can be done. Even a an open pod and turbocharger can easily be fitted in with all the empty spaces. Most new car these days has cramped engine bay.

well, in essence, standard airfilter are cheaper & made from paper..K&N is made from other materials (cotton, etc) in which it claim to have more efficient filtering properties & improved performance..and it is washable (with its cleaning kit)..rm530 is wayyyy to much...should be on average around rm350...
*
K&N filter uses wire mesh with filtering oil, not cotton. It is washable, but need to re-oil back after washing. Cleaning kit is about RM70 or you can go to Speedworks for service (less than RM10). AFAIK, the best filtering is still the stock ones, but the air restriction is the worst. For best deals on K&N, try searching for Kangyoon at Automotive Garage subforum.
