Regarding the CVT tranmission, he say there are not complain at all for the overheat issue. Jz take care by maintaining the car well after doing high rpm.
Still wondering when I get my inspira.

QUOTE(hungryJack @ Nov 17 2010, 09:57 PM) I was thinking to change the rims immediately once i get the car... if warranty void, is on the rim/tyre only or everything consider void? Is not fair for us right? I had ask my SA about those void things... Rim can be change, tayar can be change, Tinting can be done. Btw, no add on like intake manifold or air intake and such that increase or decrease the horsepower of the car.For your info, if your original tayar puncture, u gona fix yourself. If your rim crack dented, no waranty. tHEY ONLY GIVE WARANTY FOR THE DEFECT OF THE RIMS.. That all. QUOTE(jychow @ Nov 18 2010, 10:33 PM) Hi Krepek, I copied my comments from Inspiraclub.com. Here it goes: Seems good.. Auto lock can be done later ************ Hi there, I am one of the "Lucky 11". Had the car for about a week and find it enjoyable to drive around. I have only done 200km with this baby,,,, I was away the entire weekend and will drive a bit this week. I was informed by Proton Edar that 2 drivers already sent in theirs for 1st service. I am waiting for my free service coupons to arrive I have commented about the car in lowyat.net forum. Gonna share some of my findings. PRO: Handling is great, ride is comfortable Road noise is acceptable to my standard Transmission is smooth Leather seat is nice and comfortable Leather steering wheel feels great Ample leg room for rear passengers The hydraulic power assisted steering feels solid. I like it better than electric assisted type. 2000cc car within my budget of <100k. At least it is a CKD Japanese car, CON: Door sounded hollow when close. Doors don't auto-lock with RPM or brake applied. Engine/gearbox noise is loud when I make faster acceleration The stereo looks cheap. but still a Clarion. Sound is decent. 16 inch wheel..... would have preferred a 17 inch Boot space seems small. They should have used smaller spare tire to allow for bigger luggage space. Can't comment of fuel consumption yet as it is still new. I feel it is better to share after the 1st service. Not much comments on acceleration because still taking care of my new baby, until 1st service. Just a general way of breaking-in a new car, in my own dictionary Overall, I am generally pleased with the Inspira. It has met my expectations. ********** hope this helps. |

I rather drive the 2.0 4b11 Cvt tranny rather than 1.8 manual (4b10) tranny to enjoy a comfortable ride 1st. After 2 years later on, might convert to manual tranny with a BOT..
Fyi, the SA told me that the car are without any speedcut .. This post has been edited by Black3210: Nov 21 2010, 09:06 PM |

QUOTE(apache_utara @ Nov 21 2010, 10:31 PM) my thought as well.. hopefully easier to get manual tranny by then I'm buying da 2.0 cvt b'cos of the waranty for 3 years smooth ride, later only i convert to manual tranmission with BOT (monster style) b'cos i believe the performance mod for 4b11 engine is far better than those 4b10. can just buy that evo for track only (forgot which thread), cheaper, & can whack kaw3 at track |

QUOTE(rewlie @ Nov 21 2010, 11:06 PM) Cannot, engine placement different, 4G63T extractor in front, 4B11 extractor at the back, mounting also different. how much does it cost? Believe me my friend, it's not that easy, i have been searching for manual tranny for 4B11 since 3 years ago, and the only option that I have is only SST from Evo X which cost a bomb. |

QUOTE(sityong @ Nov 24 2010, 09:10 PM) Hi there, newbie here, i just booked my 2.0P 2 weeks back. Anyone know how many km CVT gearbox can last? i will keep this car for 7 years and the mileage will be 300k km minimum for 7 years, can this CVT gearbox stand for that long? or i should get a manual instead for trouble free. Don WORRY so much about CVT gearbox. You can read the lancer forum regarding the cvt problem. The problem occur when your cvt gearbox overheat by running high rpm in longer period. I believe it overheat because it didn''t maintain well with coolant, fluid and oil with regular service after a long run. It will definately last.is it very expensive to replace a used or new CVT gearbox? Added on November 24, 2010, 9:30 pm QUOTE(DM3 @ Nov 24 2010, 09:20 PM) black, i fully agree with u, almost of the famous car makes have problems for new batches especially.. go see the JD powers quality ratings for the honda, toyota n all QUOTE(archonixm @ Nov 24 2010, 09:23 PM) I'm not defending proton, but my friend civic just used less than 3 month, the rear absorber leaking and need to be change. So any manufacturer also got bad lemon in their production line, same as AMD/Intel....not only in vehicle productions. QUOTE(FrostLance @ Nov 24 2010, 09:45 PM) All cars the same? Just take an Ori lancer and do a side by side comparison like me and my housemate (lancer owner) did.. Thank for your comment. Probably the inspira fit my perception better. I test drive it and i also test drive lancer. I probably like the softness in the inspira if compare to lancer. If you talking about interior, those car i saw in showroom and the car i tested seems solid. Beside, I'm not bashing lancer owner here,k.Proton QC is damn terrible.. the interior assembly is unfinish like.. he door panels are hollow.. the dashboard issint fitted correctly..exposed metals parts in the trunks which are not available in the lancer.. Compare the plastics material of both car.. knock on them..the doors, the dashboard.. the seats rear seats are too soft until can feel something poking.. the leather doesnt feel like nappa leather.. alot of difference between the lancer and inspira.. |

QUOTE(SothysSaleShop @ Nov 24 2010, 09:56 PM) Can you do us a favor? Can you do for us a detailed picture comparison as we dont have a lancer to compare and also dont have an inspira at the moment to do so. Hope you can show us how the dashboard was fitted wrongly & exposed metals in the trunk in your opinion. Thanks in advance I agree with Sothys, Mr.Frost will be kind enough to show us the fact. Do you think Mitsu will praise proton for nothing? Do you think Mitsu will collaborate with Proton if the QC is bad? What ya think? |

QUOTE(hyunckelsyah @ Nov 24 2010, 10:15 PM) sat in an inspira in proton showroom earlier today Seems you are stil a freshgrad, i suggest you to get blm saga better.unable to test drive, apparently the test drive unit will come later this week i dont know about others but i find the interior is more than acceptable,if not good, material and design-wise. all the seats were also comfy with enough legrooms all around i can see why some ppl commented on the have-to-slam-hard door thing, u have to somewhat slam it harder to close it properly. the trunkspace also less roomy that i would have expected, mainly due to the full size spare tyre. otherwise im quite looking foward to test driving it soon. can imagine myself being in real dilemma soon to choose between inspira and honda insight (and maybe forte too) but RM800++ per month for a freshgrad? hmmmm thats even bigger dilemma hehe |

QUOTE(FrostLance @ Nov 24 2010, 11:03 PM) guys before u guys starts flaming me just want to get things clear..im not an anti inspira person or am i senselessly bashing the inspira.. That what i say earlier, most ckd car cannot be 100% perfect. As long the car give you safety, good rating by other brand, comfort and power. all the things i said is based on MY Own experience with the show car i saw. perhaps u guys have diff experience on your part.. but i do believe the assembly QC is bad.. not just for proton.. but other local CKD cars.. including the Honda Accord that my father owns.. Futhermore, the car that Frost saw might be in a hurry to sent as show car or might not be finished yet. |

DO NOT need to scare them.i travel long distance a lot.. 5k per month.. almost jumpa weekly with JPJ.. last time my 1 day old carbon fibre plate kena..damn la..so unlucky.. dare not touch HID..
