Dammit, my cousin has a Leica too, I haven't asked him which model. I heard he sold off his entire Nikon's army to camp in Leica now.

Guys,
Since its so difficult to find a shops that sells the Sigma 30mm here, I've found an online retailer. http://www.tincheungcamera.com.hk/product/555 Any comments if i were to buy from this online shop? Warranty wise, is it 1-yr international coverage? Can I send to local distributor when it comes to warranty claim? I've read about the inconsistency in Sigma's QC, especially bad focusing. Any idea if Sigma's local distributor will help to calibrate the lens if I were to purchase from TinCheung? |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Nov 10 2010, 05:55 PM) Not really, better AF system means it tracks and focuses on the spot that you focus on faster. A bad AF system might fail to track the desired spot and the spot that you focus will be OOF aka Out Of Focus. Bear in mind that OOF and sharpness is two different thing. Sharpness depends on the lens that you are using. |

QUOTE(Tontonn @ Nov 10 2010, 07:19 PM) btw... which is really better tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 with or without vc. i heard ppl say the 1 with vc is softer and focus slower? I went to try both lens and finally I bought the VC version. VC version is more bulky compare to non VC one and its filter size 72mm. but the VC does help me as my hand is shaky to handle slow shutter speed shot. as for sharpness, I didn't own non VC one. the copy I have looks great even on F/2.8 wide open. in conclusion, I would recommend you get the VC version one. go try both of them and see which one suit you |

The price difference between a VC and non VC is about RM400+-. "You must sacrifice more for the IS capability to get a good picture" well more or less she said that.. |

my gf will be getting her first dslr in this weekend , for now we consider the canon 550d or the nikon d90. what you all opinion?
the budget is around 3-4k . 550d kit + 50mm f1.8 should be good enough right? |
