i would recommend 60d for versatile way of snapping picture...the flip screen really is helpful
*
The swivel screen is one, and also i like the substantial grip of 60D. According to DigitalRev, 60D and 550D dont stand too far away from each other, and 60D is ahead of 550D.

How much is the 18-135mm if im getting it separately after some time?

That depends on his shooting style,no?--------->Street photography yo! brows.gif

Anyway, i also want a 60D hehe biggrin.gif

Mostly i shoot landscape, structure (dont think i'll do portrait) and most of the time it will be travel cam. Good night time performance is preferred as well.

Really? DigitalRev showed 550D has a softer image compared to 60D...

Btw..how's the AF capability of 550D and 60D?

If ISO produce same less-noise quality...
I'll go with 550D, coz I don't think I'll use LiveView often,
I get an SLR because I want to "look" through the viewfinder...
Unless u wanted to use it for video shooting often...

And the balance from 550D, buy lens lorh...
Or sets of filters... smile.gif

u get what u paid.
60D af capability will be better than 550D
due to the all cross type af.
and its not a marketing gimmick. laugh.gif

ppl who think that the 550D and 60D not much difference, then they don't need the extra features available in the 60D.

im a canon user and im having trouble deciding whether to get the canon 17-55mm or 24-105mm . im using a 450d . optical quality is very very important to me and a few people had asked me to get the 17-55mm because im using a CF body. i have a wide angle +macro converter for my kit lens which makes it about 9-23mm and i KNOW i dont use wide angle that much so i dont think the EF 24-105mm that delivers a focal length equivalent to 38-168mm is gonna affect me . i dont realy like shooting landscapes. i plan to get a telephoto lens next time but not that soon. im still a student and i have been saving my money week by week to get 1 of these but I REALLY AM HAVING A HARD TIME CHOOSING WHICH. PLEASE HELP ME !!!!

So, the AF system determines how soft/sharp the images are?

answer this yourself
you want F2.8 for low light usage or 105mm Focal range and constant F4 for longer reach?

Im using 450D and i own a 24-105 before, I say i love it! too bad the power of primes made me sold my 24-105L laugh.gif
top up with a UWA lens and you probably get 10 -105mm range cover with great image quality.

24-105mm also can produce those "bokeh" lights type of pictures if you know how to play it well smile.gif

PS: will buy back a 24-105 back one day biggrin.gif

When shooting concerts. Try using a wide aperture or higher ISO. This is to help make the camera use a higher shutter seed. laugh.gif
High shutter speed is needed because it allows you to freeze the subject. Magazines and Newspapers doesn't like pictures with motion.
Here is an example from me. I was keeping the shutter speed at 1/200 throughout the concert
ISO was around 4000 and F10. No flash. If you ISO can't go more than that, just pump. Don't worry about the noise. smile.gif
I was using F10 because I needed it to be super sharp as my pictures will be distributed to the media on the spot after the concert. No time for PP or chance to look through my own photos.
The picture was on Hot Magazine website and The Star newspaper. tongue.gif

Thanks for the heads up. Can't go above ISO1600 with my 300D though, and the needs of f1.8 makes the picture not sharp at all and messy.
