Two lenses came up in my mind:
1. Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L
2. Canon EFS 10-22mm
Please advice. Other lenses can also be considered. Thanks guys.

QUOTE(Grajindo @ Nov 7 2010, 04:22 PM) 10-20 That's why i am asking for advice. If the IQ is pretty much the same I think i have to skip it. Beside the weather sealing, some said the pic is sharper compared to the Tamron.May I know why still consider 17-40 when you have 17-50 f2.8? The picture quality of both really that big difference? Added on November 7, 2010, 5:50 pm QUOTE(busyman @ Nov 7 2010, 05:45 PM) Err yeah that is another reason. I dun have L lens yet. But if the IQ is pretty much the same, then maybe i have to skip it. QUOTE(sukhoi37 @ Nov 7 2010, 07:49 PM) Don't waste your money on 17-40f4L. Thanks for the advice and the link. It is 10-22 then. Will buy L lens once I upgrade to FF. It is for FF not for cropped. IQ comparison? Tamron 17-50mmf2.8 vs Canon 17-40f4L: http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews...p=0&FLI=0&API=2 I find it funny on the ppl using 1740f4L with cropped body. The lens range is short, f4 is small, not sharp and expensive. Maybe it's the weather sealing feature they looking for. Added on November 7, 2010, 10:28 pm QUOTE(LegendLee @ Nov 7 2010, 09:00 PM) I was in the situation before. I agree! I choose the 17-40 L simply because I plan to upgrade to full frame, (2 more months !!!) Of course you can get the 10-22 first and sell it off when you upgrade. QUOTE(dantwt @ Nov 11 2010, 07:00 AM) Guys, Why 'travel' so far you can go Here Since its so difficult to find a shops that sells the Sigma 30mm here, I've found an online retailer. http://www.tincheungcamera.com.hk/product/555 Any comments if i were to buy from this online shop? Warranty wise, is it 1-yr international coverage? Can I send to local distributor when it comes to warranty claim? I've read about the inconsistency in Sigma's QC, especially bad focusing. Any idea if Sigma's local distributor will help to calibrate the lens if I were to purchase from TinCheung? |

QUOTE(zhengyang89 @ Nov 20 2010, 11:32 AM) I want to ask The new one with Hoya HD filter should be around RM2005.00 I guess. So I think it is a good deal. Check the lens first for dust and test it with your camera.rm1550 for used tamron 17-50 vc with hoya hd filter left 1 year warranty. Good deal or not ? |
