Guys,
Since its so difficult to find a shops that sells the Sigma 30mm here, I've found an online retailer. http://www.tincheungcamera.com.hk/product/555 Any comments if i were to buy from this online shop? Warranty wise, is it 1-yr international coverage? Can I send to local distributor when it comes to warranty claim? I've read about the inconsistency in Sigma's QC, especially bad focusing. Any idea if Sigma's local distributor will help to calibrate the lens if I were to purchase from TinCheung? |

Need some opinion here.
Looking for a general walkaround/travel lens for my 550D. The 18-55mm is nice but its too short for me. Thus, I've read about these 2 choices: - EF-S 15-85mm or - EF-S 18-135mm I've tested the 15-85mm recently. The AF speed and sharpness at all zoom range wide open is really impressive. What about the 18-135mm? Hows the IQ? The AF speed? Is it worth to compromise the IQ for the extra zoom range on the 18-135mm? Any comments or recommendation is greatly appreciated. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Thanks for the recommendations guys. Yes, I currently have the 18-55mm but its too short for my style of shooting. AF speed is pretty darn slow and lack of contrast which i have to manually process in LR. For suggestion on Tamron's 17-50/2.8, I've though if it but its still short in terms of focal range. I decided to consider either 18-135 or the 15-85 because I found a good deal on the 15-85. Viking's suggestion on 17-55/2.8 is way out of budget. Again, my requirements are simple: - general walkabout with zoom range till 85/135mm - don't need f2.8 as i shoot with flash in low light. - sharp at the longer focal ends. i.e 50 to 85/135mm range. |
