After 3 months of "struggling". From selection Sony 550-> Sony A55 -> Canon 50D -> Canon 60D -> Canon 550D. I end up getting 50D.... LOL.... with tamron with VC. Seller recommend me the Tonika 11-16mm F2.8 lense, but i end up getting tamron with vc due to out of budget.

At first i have already decided to choose 550D.. But until i reach the shop and test each camera and found out that....

1) 550D is really light..... real real light.... light until I'm unable to accept it as DSLR. LOL.

2) Test on the HD video... In fact I would rather get camcorder for better quality and longer recording.

3) The handling on 50D is really good..... It feels good when I'm holding it. 550D.... you know lah... 60D..... its "OK" to me... but i think 50D has more feel on it.

4) Function of 50D is really awesome... Lots of stuff that i can play with.... and I'm still learning it.

This is my thought during purchasing the dslr. Tonika lense really looks awesome, if comparing tamron f2.8. I found out that tonika has more quality than tamron after comparing both pic taken live in the shop. (My thoughts)  But price is like RM800 more expensive. T__T

Conclusion: Join Canon Fans Club gang~~~, finally.... got lots of stuff to learn from guys like you all who has taken so much quality photo. I might post some photo here and need you guys to guide me. XD Or anyone has the photo taking guidance video or ebook?

you feel that heavy... try carrying 1d mark iv + 70-200L is usm + 580ex speedlite......then.....hang it on your neck for like 6 hours for a photoshoot....

it feels glorious for about 3 hours... another 3 would be either putting it on the table or soaking in sweats 

Guys, i have a budget of RM3500. I should get a 60D with 18-55mm or a 550D with 18-135mm?

Does the 18-135mm better than the 18-55mm in terms of sharpness and image quality?

Due to limited vitamin M, i guess i'll go for 60D with 18-55mm and later on will upgrade to a Tammy 17-50 or get a telephoto 55-250mm (if i really need that range).  The 18-200mm looks perfectly awesome on the 60D, while 18-55mm looks a little tiny on the 60D body.

a 60D body is RM2900 + Tamron VC 1750 = RM4650

hi deodorant, thanks for your comments. I actually intend to find out at which focal length i shoot most with so i can make plans to get a prime. Been reading about primes and how people has said that the 50mm f1.8 for RM300++ is good start. Just wondering if I'm a fan of 50mm before I go out to the camera shop.

I see, a good investment for practice equipment.
Actually, I am more curious to see the difference in zoom and prime.
I think that larger aperture should give more bokeh than my 18-55mm.
I have the 18-55 and have no intention of upgrading.
I am only using 550D. No need to spend so much on lens.
I am not a photographer.
I think the shop will not entertain me if I go try these lenses, not that I dare too!
Plus, I really dont intend to spend much. The 35mm F/1.4L is 5K+++++!!
Yes, I am sticking with the 18-55. The 50mm may not be versatile but it is the cheapest prime out there.

For the money, its better off getting the Sigma 30mm f1.4 compared to the Canon.

The canon is an age old lens and doesn't come with USM compared to the sigma. And the sigma is a full stop faster than the canon.
Doesn't really matter if the Sigma is a APS-C lens.. if you are going full frame, you would probably pick the canon 35 f1.4 over the f2 anyway.

Plus, the bokeh of the 35 f2 isn't that pleasant too according to reviews from certain sites.
