A: Yes you can. Just met a fellow forummer, he is the first 60 who got the phone. He also bought an additional phone outright.

Q: Installment plan? How?
A: The Visa/Master CR Card merchant is only for Citibank, HSBC, Public bank, Maybank and CIMB Bank on installment plans.

Example, If you purchase ip4 32GB on Ivalue 1 X 12 months contract = RM1990

Ivalue 1 : RM400 for 24 months and RM200 for 12months <--advance payment
ivalue 2 :RM620 for 24 months and RM200 for 12 months
ivalue 3 : RM1250 for 24 months and RM500 for 12 months
ivalue 4: RM2000 for 24 month, RM1000 for 12 months

This so called advance payment is either Swap your credit card which is not under installement plans, however there is a rebate RM40 X 5 months = RM200 which is credit back in your bill.
Basically the advanced payment will be credited equally over in 1st 5 months of your bill. [credit weileong]

Yup, confirm Taipan USJ maxis shop takes bookings for the iPhone 4. According to manager thr, should have stock by this week. U can book it but must pay RM 200 for the ivalue prepayment first. The rest, pay when the phone arrives.

Dunno whether the phone will really be available this week or not. If you want to take a chance, can do so. It could just be a way to get more people to sign up via their shop. I believe what they told me (maybe I am just a sucker for these kind of things) and put down the prepayment. When I get it I will update u guys. Cheers

for those who didnt book when can buy?

Check your own calls/sms + data usage monthly. If you use below RM100, then go for iValue1 package (comes with free 1GB data). If you average rm140+, then go for iValue2 RM155 (free 2GB data), etc.

Try to practise own limitation on data usage. I have wifi at office and home. For heavy intense download, like installing apps, youtube, etc, I only use wifi. So far after 2.5 weeks of usage, I only use up ~30MB of my data plan. But through wifi, it must have been several GB already.

In my case, I opt for 24-months contract, as it has 24-months warranty. Also, the device cost is cheaper by rm500 between 12 and 24 months. Billing wise, fully claimable from company due to work purpose

Therefore, in my case, why buy outright, when I can get subsidised from contract ?

ytd i go to garden mc and question many thing regarding the iphone 4
according to the guy who look like th person in charge (manager)
he told me tat they currently not doing any walk in sale and iphones only reserved for pre booked customer
so i keep going and ask to place me into the booking list
he said " we are no longer taking booking as of our list have more den 900 booking customers"
so i just drop my contact there and wishing he giv me a call bak once he got stock for me.

anyway i giv up on hunting the iphone 4 d! anyway i will keep u guys update if there any news!

Just an update. Maxis has stock for iphone4 16gb today. Went there at around 10am. No need to que for so damm long as mention in the previous post. got my number and waited for 7 person. At 12 PM got my iphone4 16gb. no hassle no waiting. 32gb has no stock though....

Yes, juz went to KLCC MC...have stock for ip4 16G ONLY. Aft tat to Taipan MC, no stock & they already stop making reservation, ask me come back to check again aft 2 - 3 weeks.

If buy outright, will be 12-months warranty.
Also, if buy outright, it will be cheaper to buy in SG, provided you/friends travel down frequently, in case need to claim warranty issues.

Anyone got go to Maxis Ipoh today?

Just been there. No stock. Expect next one or two weeks. Everytime KL sent the goods are 16GB only and limited to 20 units. Worse scenario is not sent daily! I'm getting bored of the waiting list. Just like last year 3GS release.

Somehow the sales girl given me a priority waiting list without deposit.

One of the MEP told me they refresh the stocks 2-3 times a week. But the number of units very much depends on what the maxis HQ send to them. That's why when i go and book from them last week, even if i'm the 15th on the priority list, i will have to wait for either 1-3weeks, depending on my luck.

Then i also should go there, to get myself in the priority waiting list.. already put my name there last week... still no calls from them...zzz

Actually I don't buy their words of so called priority list cause end of the day if they don't accept deposit, anyone can be in the list. Priority list perhaps it helps to reduce your frustation. Another good way to drift away the complains.

I wonder the stocks on 14th and 15th is enough to cater for all for the last time or still have to play 'early birds'. A friend of mine working there saying that even they have stocks, they will allocate a limited unit for early walk-ins and the rest of it is for earlier customers who have booked since last month.

easy, 1st buy outright coz no contract, in case maxis or other telco like digi or celcom have great promo to switch, you can grab the deal
2nd, like me, i used less than rm 30 per month, so, if i take any of the contract plan, most of my money will go to waste, with prepaid, i get free 500mb per month for a year(equals to rm 816 as monthly package is rm68 per month) so its like getting subsidized rm 816 for your phone.

it seems that the info on their web and at other places like twitter n facebook dont seem to match one another...so weird

I think I can understand its hard to standardize the answers among the Maxis people - be it the Telecall agents or the ground crew. I noticed calling the Telecall agents who are guys....at least only 1 in 5 are nice, while ladies were higher ratio, I mean the ladies generally will provide a better answer or help you locate a center that may still have some units left.

i'm wondering what they meant of "1st come 1st serve", juz call the maxis cs to clarify this matter, the cs said that, yes, there will be iphone 4 arriving on 14th and 15th oct, but the stock will be used to clear the customers in the waiting list FIRST, then the REMAINING stock oni will be on 1st come 1st serve basis...

I wanted ip4 32GB not 16GB. All they have in MC KLCC ONLY ip4 16GB. I thought they have restock and hunting @ MC Taipan but there aso no stock for ip4 32GB.

If you look closer at the small lines....the free SMS/MMS is only applicable for Maxis to Maxis, means u'll pay more if its non-Maxis.
