Do not post the RSVP links. The rsvp/booking is only for existing Maxis users and i'll be taking the URL down as this is inappropriate.

Also, it's for those who were in the iPhone 4 registration of interest list. Not open for registration and it's no where to be found on Maxis website. The URL was emailed their customers and not to the mass as they were their first priority listing.

Only, if Maxis website does post up the registration/rsvp openly to the mass, you may proceed to post the URL. Until then, no rsvp URL allowed to be posted for reasons stated above.

Thank you

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Sep 15 2010, 05:12 PM)
My insider source now has news that the Maxis launch for iPhone 4 will be on September 24th, 2010 at the stroke of midnight. Yes, a midnight launch, a first for the iPhone launch.

Price-wise, the Singaporean sets are cheaper than this Maxis launch price, with regards to unsubsidized prices.

A formal launch event/ceremony is set to happen at 9pm/2100hours at The Gardens Midvalley on September 23rd 2010.

There you have it. Less than 8 days to go.
*
Q: Easy Payment and which bank? [by andyoba]
A: 0% easy payment plan will be available at launch on 24th at Gardens
Participating banks and installment duration
Maybank (12/24 months)
Citibank (12/24 months)
CIMB (12/24 months)
HSBC (12 months)
Public Bank (12 months)
(Debit cards are not applicable)

Take Note:

- No discussions on/and comparisons with Singtel/Aussie/Singapore/DIGI and any other countries' plans. Do head to their specific threads.
- This is not a Maxis bashing thread. No ranting allowed. Post will be deleted.
- Spams, one-liners, chit chatty, off-topic posts will be deleted.
- Stop speculations about deliveries and collections as it really clutters up the thread. Post will be deleted. (by moderator tinkerbel)
- NO sales thread allowed.
- Question not related to the topic will be moved to specific threads or post will be deleted.

THIS IS NOT A COMPLAIN THREAD. ALL COMPLAIN POST WILL BE DELETED.

Q&A:

Q: What is MEP?
A: Maxis Exclusive Partner.

Q: MEP location?
A: http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/iphone3gs/where1.asp

Q: Is Maxis iPhone 3GS an UNLOCK unit?
A: YES. IS FULLY UNLOCK.

Q: I've just bought a used Maxis iPhone 3G/3GS. What do I need to do when I wanted to send in my phone to Maxis for warranty?
A: To claim warranty you need the person who bought the iPhone which is under his/her name to be present. Requires I/C (of original owner) and warranty card.
*UPDATE: According to a personnel from Machines, having the Warranty Service Card is suffice for warranty purpose.(credits to tinkerbel)

Q: Will a white version be available?
A: No, the white version hasn't been made available by Apple yet, ANYWHERE.

Q: What IOS 4 does it come with the iPhone?
A: Maxis sets came with 4.0.2[credit teikwing]

Q: Any free bumper case from Maxis?
A: No free bumper cases available. They are not giving out the bumper case @ the launch but u still can apply thru the Official Apple site. More info here: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1509871

Q: can any1 confirm that u can get 2nd Iphone 4 off the contract (RRP) if u purchase 1st set with contract.
A: Yes you can. Just met a fellow forummer, he is the first 60 who got the phone. He also bought an additional phone outright.

Q: what if i have da confirmation id but im not going due to some personal reason n yet i asked my frens to go on behalf on me?? is it acceptable?
A: cannot i think. Just now i asked the maxis ppl at midvalley. He said u have to be there urself.

Q: Do they provide micro sim?
A1: No need to pay for Micro sim and you can get it there and then. Maxis will give you the MICRO SIM when you purchase the iPhone - FOC.[credit bontaku]
A2: microsim is given free of charge..[credit kenji82]

Q: buying iphone 4 outright..Could u tell us more details regarding it?
A1: Get into a contract - doesn't matter what plan - you get iphone from that contract.
You can then ADD JUST the iPhone 4 (doesn't matter what size). In total - one iPhone with contract and one without (please keep in mind - no sim lock) [credit bontaku]
A2: Bought my iphone 4 outright with no problem as long ur using ivalue plan [credit Freshie_Foo]
A3: To buy outright purchases, just go to the counter when it's ur turn and tell them u want to purchase outright. [credit tinkerbel]

Q: What IOS 4 does it come with?
A: Maxis sets came with 4.0.2[credit teikwing]

Q: Installment plan? How?
A: The Visa/Master CR Card merchant is only for Citibank, HSBC, Public bank, Maybank and CIMB Bank on installment plans.

Example, If you purchase ip4 32GB on Ivalue 1 X 12 months contract = RM1990

Ivalue 1 : RM400 for 24 months and RM200 for 12months <--advance payment
ivalue 2 :RM620 for 24 months and RM200 for 12 months
ivalue 3 : RM1250 for 24 months and RM500 for 12 months
ivalue 4: RM2000 for 24 month, RM1000 for 12 months

This so called advance payment is either Swap your credit card which is not under installement plans, however there is a rebate RM40 X 5 months = RM200 which is credit back in your bill.
Basically the advanced payment will be credited equally over in 1st 5 months of your bill. [credit weileong]

QUOTE
> How long is the warranty period for Maxis iPhone 4G?
- The warranty is up to 12 months from the date of purchase and cannot be extended. (not valid for ACPP)

However, Customers on a 24 month plan can now enjoy extended warranty up to 24 months with a new iPhone 4.

http://maxis.com.my/personal/iphone4/landing.asp

> What kind of damages does the warranty cover against?
- Just like the policy of any other mobile phone distributor, the warranty covers against any software/hardware failures and damages that are not self-caused or due to self-negligence. (eg. drops, water damages)
(Warranty will be void if you jailbreak your iPhone. Do a restore before sending in for warranty)

> If my iPhone is faulty, can I send in to Maxis and request for 1-to-1 exchange?
- In most cases, 1-to-1 is done for faulty sets. But you might need to wait if the specific centre don't have ready stocks. And take note that for the experience of past Maxis iPhone 3G users, a refurbished set will be given for the exchange.

> I've just bought a used Maxis iPhone 3G/3GS. What do I need to do when I wanted to send in my phone to Maxis for warranty?
- To claim warranty you need the person who bought the iPhone which is under his/her name to be present. Requires I/C (of original owner) and warranty card.

ish.. i just called MAXIS..

and this time this CS.. is giving an answer different from the forum..

he said we CAN bring the authorization letter, without bringing our father there.. as long as there's a letter signed by our father and we have to get father's photocopied IC and MY photocopied IC.

but what he is making me mad is.. he said if i were to take iphone4 from maxis.. i cannot sign up for idata2 plan!

data plans are for phones not bought from maxis..

and in that case, i'll be forced to take ivalue1, which has 333 free "local" calls, and their meaning of LOCAL is maxis to maxis..

and that means.. if u want to maintain ur bill at RM100 with ivalue1, the only way is to ONLY call maxis ppl.. if u ever call, sms or mms NON-maxis user.. you'll be charged.

Maxis website says, if take iData2 or iData3 plan, must accompany with the Value Plan/Plus 50 or higher, for a 12-months contract.

This is correct. iValue plan on the other hand is encompassing all. Why not take that one?

Hey bro, the rates+plan is in this thread: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1504708

I did not want all these booking etc discussion to be mixed up with the other maxis thread as it will cause a major headache to discussion the booking and plans in one thread.

Also, these forumers can check the link on the first post for the iPhone+plans maxis link or visit maxis website.

@penman

Thank mate and great info. This is want we want in the forum..forumers posting good and valuable infos, not spam post and unconstructive post.

Cheers

Quoted from Maxis website:
QUOTE
Normal data tariff will be charged at 5 sen for every 10 KB.

*Valid only for:

Principal Lines:
  Value Plus Plan 50, 80, 150, 250, 500

Value Plan 50, 80, 150, 250, 500

  Supplementary Lines:
  Value Plus Family 30, 50

Family Plus 30, 50

Both iData2* and iData3* got this * sign. I think quite clear. Most likely CS is wrong.

Anyway, it is not iValue 50, but is Value Plus/Plan 50. tongue.gif I check my monthly billing and I'm currently on Value Plan 50.

I suggest if it is not you yourself, then don't waste time for the pre-launch. Wait few more days on next Mon. Else you will get more angry & frustrated at site, with each of the 50 people there, giving 50 different reasons.

yes.. ivalue is more worthy perhaps IF.. they state their definition of "LOCAL" calls.. haha..

oh right, in the first place i wanted idata2, because.. i want to aim that my phone bill is RM100 every month..

but if local calls means maxis to maxis.. then definitely whenever i make a single call that is external, it will increase my bill already..

sigh, i really admire ur intelligence of believin every single info told to u from this so called 'smart' maxis ppl. every1 knows ivalue calls are to all networks. u dun need to worry bout dat problem. u oni need to worry bout ur sms, which is not in d plan. any sms to other telco will be charged separately.

guys, im a little confused. please correct me if im wrong

but when they said "FREE local calls & SMS**" it falls in the field of "Between family lines". which means only principal call/sms to supp. lines right? is that what they meant?

Huh??? Local calls aren't Maxis to Maxis...look at the rates page. There's no asterisk beside the 333 minutes of local calls...only stuff with an asterisk is for Maxis to Maxis, like the SMS and MMS.
