As I said earlier singapore has 14 HD channels including ASN as a channel itself. Sad to see Asss incorporates ASN into SS HD ! Thats disgusting, thats why I say Ass always monop[olises and treats us like second class citizens thay just wont allow us enjoy things as they are WTF !

welcome to the another thread of ASTRO BYOND 6.0, Now my grandma's house have astro byond now. So I can watch Zhi Zhun HD, AXN HD, FX HD and HBO HD (but no SuperSports HD, ESPN HD, NAT GEO HD & History HD). I will forward this thread to get more info about Byond (Except PVR)

The remaining 7 HD channel could be launched anytime between now and ?

Today I see all my booked recording is missing in the list.
So I have to find my favorite movie/drama and booked it again.

Anyone experience same problem? BTW i'm using HDD PVR

Astro FB mentioned WWE is not availabe in HD anywhere in Asia..dunno true or not la..

BTW..Nadi Arena mentioned Chelsea vs Manchester United on Sunday will be on Astro Supersport 3 as well as Star Sports and ESPN HD..
Looks like a new channel before Sunday then..

Has anyone asked that before? I know Astro manage to have boxing from HBO PPV in HD.

SS 3 HD is already set to take off, but I prefer an exclusive HD sports channel to In House SS

Once Astro has a decent number of HD channels I might consider subscribing again

If not wrong should be Singapore channel 5....
The logo almost same....

I just use a few step to booked a program,
1- Select program that you want to record at TV Guide
2- Press record button on your byond remote control
3- Done

If you have a few program to record just repeat step above. To check successful of your booked program just go to Planner

does HBO HD provide English sub-title?
if yes than i am going to subscribe HD channels.

currently all HD channels are without subtitle

Astro Supersport 3 is a SD channel..that is confirmed as a new channel..it should be launched before Sunday...

I notice record program are always got problem (hung or no sound) when I want to watch it back.
It happen when I recording live program while watching existing record program.

To avoid this problem I have to leave decoder on standby mode when recording task are running. This is really suck.

Ch 310 now come with Subtitle

right now C310 is showing "Road to civilization", subtitle is not working on my byond, can yours switch on the subtitle?

Subtitle for it looks the same as SD channel. Now, subtitle for other HD channel when?

subtitle function is there since day one, astro only implemented switchable subtitle/closed captioning on a few SD channels only, they either do not have the resource or are too lazy I guess not much subscribers are making the complaint so they do not have the urgency to fix the problem, may be astro should outsource the job to India

According to the listings on www.espnstar.com, ESPN and Star Sports will continue to show EPL matches. Man United opening match with the Magpies will be shown by them also

but you need to fabricate the mounting of the dish
which easily for yourself to install and uninstall

I visit this thread quite often and recently it starts giving this malware warning (using Google Chrome).

Yup..true..u will watch the Magpies upset the the Red Devils on ESPN.. But I have checked the ESPNSTAR.com page..they do not list Chelsea vs West Brom on the 14th or Liverpool vs Arsenal on the 15th being LIVE on their channel..I have definitely seen Liverpool vs Arsenal advertised for Supersport 3 so i would assume that is also the case for the Chelsea match..

but try checking out the ESPN site..they actually have a 30minute LIVE preview show before those matches..however they dont actually show the match..i think when the match starts, they will change their Malaysian feed..Supersport 3 will show the match and they would also produce their in house match programme..

*On a another note, the La Liga advertisement now says it will be on Supersport instead of Supersport HD before this..looks like Supersport 3 will be for EPL and other league share the other 2 channels

So, new channel for this month is Super Sports 3 (ch8??) and MyStory (18th on ch318).

I got problem here. I watch recorded TV program while recording live TV (for example CSI).
I notice my recorded live TV (CSI) cannot be open when i want watch it back.

Anyone experience this recording problem? Or just me.
BTW i'm using external HDD PVR.

Just watched Singapore's Mediacorp Channel 5..they are actually going to show Chelsea vs Man United LIVE on their free to air channel..in Malaysia, it is only on Astro..n guess what..mio TV are sponsoring the Live broadcast..can never see that happening from Astro

who want to sponsor free games here?last time dunhill can sponsor but nowadays, cigaretes company cannot...then who?astro?y they, they pay for that game....

mio tv also pay for that game so y cant astro? aaa..coz astro only take money not give money away..

I really likes the astro in house channel old logo than their current logo now.....
and RM499+RM100 for installation is Down-to-earth price lor....??? I don't think so.... it's still expensive than now....

Need advise about PVR recording.

1.Have byond now so is it correct to say I add RM 5 per month to get PVR function and then add an external WD HD to store the recorded program.

2. In which format is the file stored mpg or ...?

3. Can I copy the stored file on the WD HD to view over my P.C. etc

I need to record and save a program where I have a family member in the show.

Please advise...

1. thats true need to add Rm5 per month
but not that stable better get the byonds pvr build in hdd. add rm10.got 2 tuner. can record and watch other programme or can record two programme and watch recorded programme at the same time. but nee to pay Rm300

2.astro format maybe, still dont know. some can try lor

3. nope. cant copy the record file to other media cos yr pvr and smartcard and recorded programme are all together gather.
will not play.

Maybe then just get an external capture card use with laptop to record...

TV1 in HD?

Very very very absolutely not stable.
Cannot watch recorded TV and recording live TV simultaneously as they mention before.

Didn't heard any news from RTM yet.

Update: New Astro subscriber can straight apply for Byond package with RM199 for the installation charges. No need to subscribe with normal Astro package first before upgrade to Byond.

I've been waiting for 1mth to get Astro installed at my hometown and they keep saying "no stock" and untiil today when I called them they told me that I can get Byond but need to pay Rm199.

If new customer getting B.yond, they have call 1-300-82-9888 first.

How bad can u get..???
Astro FB people really need to be replaced or at least keep up to date with the current issues regarding themselves..

When asked about when astro Supersport 3 was going to be launched, they replied they dont have plans for Supersport 3..I was laughing at this while reading it..The astro CEO lady already said they are gonna launch it..heck..even Nadi Arena have advertised football matches for the new channel..

Morale of story..Astro FB guys are an unreliable source

Channel 804 start already in astro but without any broadcast....

Weird. Usually the channel have "menu loop" first.

I would like to know, currently I have one astro b.yond account, while my parent's house is on standard astro account, can I buy an extra b.yond dish and receiver to replace the old one on my parent's house so that I can just take the decoder back to my parent's house and enjoy HD?

no need bro..just take back ur current byond decoder, smartcard, power adapter, HDMI cable and remote..then plug in your parents dish..byond decoder can use with normal dish..if your parnts use old CRT television can also use..just use their yellow, red white cable..

I tried but no signal detected.

How old are the dish at your parent house?

Two Malay chanels are xpected, as usual a Malay HD channel and another both In House as anticipated ! ( Source Malay Wikipedia on Asstro) THey just love In House !!!

One thing i don't like about beyond...
the channel that u press, must enter correctly otherwise can't go to channel that u want to..
normally i will press for the easier number for instances, 400 for movies, 800 for sport that will automatically go to the nearest channel..
but with beyond, i cant do that..

This issue was highlighted to Tall Justin but looks like we take it as it is or leave it ! Even the first decorders had the feature to go to the nearest channel now looks like sit down and memorise all channel nembers, but no thought was given for the old and disabled folks, like they say they seem so smart but stupid actually
