This issue was highlighted to Tall Justin but looks like we take it as it is or leave it ! Even the first decorders had the feature to go to the nearest channel now looks like  sit down and memorise all channel nembers, but no thought was given for the old and disabled folks,  like they say they  seem so smart but stupid actually  vmad.gif

A Malay HD channel for Raya is most likely,  tarik pelangganlah tu !

All your posts seem to curse, snap, and be pissed at Astro, but you still subsribe to them. Why don't just cut Astro and subscribe to 4MB Streamyx and get all your contents from the net?

Bro !! Johor no Unifi and wat choice we have on Unifi either ! But I think my criticsims are not unfounded or baseless, I just blast ooff hoping for changes which wld benefit all of us, ONE malaysia Mah !! drool.gif Look at 4mb pricing thats a bomb !! Anything which exceeds RM100pm shld be given a second thought !!
*
4MB line is available through Streamyx also, at RM140 per month unlimited. What's RM140 if you can get all the HD and SD contents you want without censorship, without ads, without rain-fade and with near real-time broadcast from overseas?

Hmm.. Why do I feel that the ESPN HD feed before this has a better PQ than the present feed from Singapore. Or is it just me?

Actually according to Astro's online TV guide, the channel starts tomorrow (12/08/2010) at 11am..if so, the channel could be available tonite after 12..
*
The latest Astro ad about ASSP 3 states that it will start on the 13th. We will also be seeing Jason Dasey again for the pre-shows on the channel. But we can still see John Dykes in some of the programmes. So I guess not too bad. But the inclusion of ASSP HD in this season's broadcast means that more matches will be in HD. Woohooo!

UPDATE: ASSP 3, CH 817 has started broadcasting.

With the concurrent matches showing on both ESPN HD and ASSP HD right now, I can say that there is indeed a difference between the PQ of the two channels, with ASSP HD being the better one. It might not be much, but it's there. Same case with ESPN HD before and after the switch to the Singapore feed.

That's why I change from normal Byond to PVR, if u change to Byond PVR, one year contract will be automatically end at the date of Byond PVR activation..., so, when I feel wanna see HD, I will subscribe it, If I don't feel wanna watch it, just cancel it anytime I want..... If I use Byond, I need to pay RM20 every months, and I cannot deactivate HD if I didn't use Byond for less than one year.... If deactivate HD on normal Byond, they also will take back byond decoder and replace it with normal decoder if i'm not mistaken....

Byond PVR just need to top-up RM10 every month.... and I can freely subscribe to HD (plus RM20) or not....
*
Nope. After the contract expires, if you unsubscribe HD, the Byond decoder remains with you. The decoder change applies only when you stop subscribing to the PVR. They will take it back and replace with Byond decoder. I believe in the long term, when they finally recover the costs of HD migration, everyone will get Byond decoder and the old decoder will be phased out, regardless of HD subscription.

It's not too bad, Astro doing in house broadcast for BPL this year. Now we have two sets of pundits, Astro's and ESPN's. We can watch ESPN's pre shows then switch to ASSP for the live game.

Err..there's no ESPN pre-show on both matches screened by Supersport (Chelsea v W.Brom & Lpool v Arsenal).
*
Got lah bro, Super Sunday last night, shown till the kick off time at 11pm, then ESPN switched to X-Games. With all the analysis about formations, strategies, etc.

We will have a new channel starting 30th August, although not an HD one.

Nat Geo Wild, CH550

I saw the ad for that channel, with the date and channel number on channel E! this morning.

guys, dont know whether its just my eyes or something else. but i realize that ESPN HD PQ quality is slightly inferior to SuperSport HD. I got this observation from comparing the program Premier League World broadcasted in both channels at a different time yesterday. During fast movements, the video seems blurred and pixelated on ESPN. anyone notice this too?
*
Yes, we noticed this. Read a few pages back. It started when ESPN HD switched to the Singapore feed.

Here's an idea: you figure out how to launch a satellite TV service and make the figures work for Malaysia/SEA, and you too can get financial backers to fund you billions of ringgit to make it work.

How can those cable TVs down south can thrive and with good service with such a small market? Malaysian market is easily bigger than them

They are changing suppliers again? What happened to the contract with Pace? More importantly, what will happen to us already stuck with Pace boxes?

I personally have yet to have any issue with the recordings after the software upgrade last month.
Aiyo, why do you think you are stuck with Pace? I personally like Pace much more than Technicolor. by the way, these are just manufacturer. They have to follow the specification and quality standard by Astro. So I don't think we the consumer will feel the difference. Also, the warranty and labour are free for Byond hence I'm not worried at all. smile.gif
*
Well, the current Pace box does run a bit hot. But yea, I guess you're right. The firmware will still remain the same I guess. Much like the SD decoder we had last time with Nokia, Phillips and Thomson, all running the same firmware.

I'm really tempted to add the movies pack with the addition of Star Movies HD. Currently I'm at RM91.95. 2 Mini + Sports + HD.

Astro contractor called that they want come to my house to fix my byond problem and they ask for RM50 for service charge.
I call astro CS and they told that no single charge for byond user.  rclxub.gif

Don't know which one a corrrect.. sweat.gif

My decoder was replaced last time without a single sen charge. I quote this from the contractor, "You untung oo ada ini Byond. Kalau ada problem call saja. Tak ada cas punya. " biggrin.gif
