fi I would swap anything for the return of Sky Sports commentary.. really miss the Martin Tyler and Andy Gray commentary team even though we only have had 1 round of matches..i think thats the biggest thing people hate right now..Singapore viewers had the same problem after Star Hub won the rights 3 years ago..anyone know whether they got the Sky Sports audio feed since mioTV took up the rights from this season? hmm.gif

Astro 'expert pundits' are very 3rd class pundits..really hated astro experts..its like comparing 1st class and economy class..they were dull..the studio was stupid..who needs to know what channel is the programme is on when we already are watching the bloody show itself..i mean come on..just put some graphic of players would do..it really sucks to have a big Supersport logo on the back....they sit so far apart.. shakehead.gif

Singapore showed all the matches LIVE at the weekend..and I mean ALL..no delayed like astro shits..stupid astro..they have the rights to show all 380 matches LIVE but they dont have the capablities to show all of the matches at the same time..they won the rights for a reported RM800 million yet they cant find a way to show all matches LIVE ..something that a lot of other countries have done for a long time.. doh.gif
Not very sure if the commentary is from Sky Sports as the production is from IMG Sports Media which cuts to London studio where John Dykes & guests are based.

Cheers.

Mio Stadium? Singtel's Mio Stadium? It's a web based broadcast, no? And ESPN lost John Dykes and Patrick Kinghorn to Mio? Based on the screen capture, they had Alan Curbishley and Lee Sharpe as their pundits. Is Mio available as cable TV in Spore?
To clarify the questions.....mio TV is a IPTV Operator in S'pore. Starhub lost BPL rights to Singtel mio TV and they are supposed to run their mio Stadium Channels on their own .....however, they commisioned the channels to a 3rd party IMG Sports Media to run the channels for them. John Dykesm Patrick Kinghorn, Jason Dasey etc. has all left ESPN STAR hence you see them appearing in London, S'pore or Malaysia respectively.

When 'Live' matches are on, they go to the London studios. Magazine shows are produced locally by IMG Sports who has a small production facility.

As paying subscribers, Astro should not short-changed viewers by cutting edges on production....my 2 cents.

Cheers.

StarHub TV Partners FOX International Channels to Offer A Wider Spectrum Of Movies to Viewers

Singapore, 8 September 2010 – Movie enthusiasts will be elated to know that they will soon have three new movie services to tune in to when watching movies on StarHub TV! FOX International Channels (FIC) and StarHub TV will launch a new STAR Movies Pack starting 16 September 2010 that will include STAR Movies, FOX Family Movies, STAR Movies HD and STAR Movies On Demand.

FOX Family Movies (StarHub TV Channel 624) will be available for free viewing to all StarHub TV subscribers from 16 September 2010 (6am) till 13 October 2010. FOX Family Movies debuts in Singapore as a dedicated movie channel providing wholesome family entertainment. FOX Family Movies will showcase a variety of family movies from the world’s leading studios such as 20th Century FOX and The Walt Disney Studios, with a movie premiere every Sunday. Some of the premieres include ‘G-Force’, ‘Bedtime Stories’, ‘Step Up 2’ and ‘102 Dalmatians’, with a line-up that boasts major blockbusters such as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’.

STAR Movies On Demand (StarHub TV Channel 623) offers movie buffs an option of watching their favourite Hollywood movies at any time they want. There will be 30 movies up for viewing at any one time on this service[1], with new titles available each month. Some titles include ‘Transporter 3’, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ‘Twilight’.

STAR Movies HD (StarHub TV Channel 662) is a simulcast of the popular STAR Movies, offering the best of Hollywood in high definition. Customers will need either the HubStation HD or HD Interactive box to enjoy this channel.

“Our partnership with FIC has reached yet another milestone with the introduction of these three new channels on StarHub TV. We are constantly on the lookout for new and exciting content to add value to our customers’ viewing pleasure and we are pleased to say that we have done just that with this partnership with FIC. We hope that with the introduction of this STAR Movies Pack, viewers will be able to dive right into Hollywood where most of the movies offered on these channels are made and enjoy them to their hearts’ content, “said Ms Iris Wee, StarHub’s Vice President of Home Solutions.

“Our partnership with StarHub scales new heights with the launch of the STAR Movies Pack. We are delighted to bring even more choice to our Singapore viewers. STAR Movies HD takes our HD offering in Singapore to 8 services and allows enhanced movie-viewing experiences. STAR Movies On Demand gives movie lovers the option of watching their favourite films as and when they like. FOX Family Movies is a great new offering for parents and kids alike, where the young and old can bond over some of the best movies ever made,” said Avinash Himatsinghani, Senior Vice President and General Manager, SE Asia, FOX International Channels.

STAR Movies Pack is priced at $17.12 (including GST) a month. StarHub TV customers who wish to subscribe to STAR Movies Pack will be able to enjoy 50 percent off the first three months of this Pack’s subscription fees. Existing STAR Movies customers who wish to upgrade to the Pack will need to pay just $2.14 (including GST) monthly for the next three months, thereafter at only $4.28 (including GST) monthly on top of their current STAR Movies subscription of $12.84 (including GST). This promotion is valid from 16 September to 31 October 2010. Customers who wish to subscribe or upgrade to this Pack may SMS smpack <space> NRIC to 76333 or call 1630. The public who wish to take on a StarHub TV package may call 1630 or visit www.starhub.com/tv for more information.

More info on ONE:

Sony to launch new Asian net

Pay-TV channel group Sony Pictures Entertainment Networks Asia (SPENA) will launch a new Asian network, after signing an output deal with one of Korea's four major national TV networks to supply programming.

Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) Contents Hub has been signed to provide programming for new network One. It will initially feature all Korean programming, with entertainment programmes from around Asia to be added in future.

As part of the agreement, SPENA will have the right to select all current and future new titles from SBS and air the shows first and exclusively on One. A dedicated two-hour SBS-branded block will be set up during primetime, and selected drama series will be available on the network shortly after their telecast in Korea.

The network will debut in Malaysia on the Astro b.yond platform on October 1, and is expected to roll out across other Asian countries.

Ricky Ow, senior VP and general manager of SPENA, said: "Korean fever has been sweeping across Asia. Viewers have been looking at various sources for their Korean entertainment fix… One is the 24/7 destination that Korean entertainment fans have been looking for."

Discovery HD India is at MEASAT 3, so how? brows.gif

Discovery HD changed it's name to Discovery HD World for a reason.....so that they can scheduled boring programs and yet defend for themselves that it was not meant to be confused with DSC SD channel.....With programs like 'My Family Feast', 'Flavors of', 'Let It Snow', 'Water Life', 'Green Paradise' on that channel.....it's a big *yawn*.

I rather have SONY ONE than stuck with DSC HD WORLD.

Also can't find New in Town movie on Star Movies web list... the HD logo look like old FX HD logo only the HD word are same...

"Disaster Movie' isshown here in S'pore......probably Astro dun have HD editing equipment to manage the delay feed hence they rather playback 'New in Town' as a replacement title.

Disaster movie on SMV HD is stretched (i think), no wonder it got replaced, since our SMV HD should air only WIDESCREEN movies. smile.gif
