I have used VIP5 for 2 weeks now, so far so good. Except I have IPTV down last night, don't know is it a UNIFI problem or router problem. After a while, it came back by itself rclxub.gif

Hi all,

I got my Unifi installed with Huawei and the stupid DIR-615 2 weeks ago. Few days ago the DIR-615 went crazy on me and all the amber lights were on, including the LAN lights. After switching it off and on again, only the on off light remains in amber while the other lights are all dead. I could not access 192.168.0.1 at all from Day 1 of installation until today.

I have since quickly connected to Unifi via the Huawei by configuring the Huawei at 192.168.1.1 (as per its manual) to connect directly to Unifi via dialup. I managed to go on the net after that. A day later, I found out I can't access to 192.168.1.1 anymore. Am I being blocked by tmnut?

A few days ago, I saw that the Wifi light on DIR-615 suddenly turned green by itself, but tried accessing the Wifi but was told that the password provided together with the router (pasted onto the underside of the router) was wrong!?! Switched off and on again, and it was back to amber light.

I currently have an old D-Link wireless ADSL router DSL-2640T from my old Screamyx days which I wanted to use as a VLAN bridge as recommended by Rizvanrp but was thwarted because it uses an RJ11 cable and no WAN ports. Not sure whether I can use one of the LAN ports as a WAN port.

So now I'm left with the option to flash the DIR-615 to dd-wrt as advised by Rizvanrp. Question is, should I just go and buy a new router with WAN port or should I just go ahead and flash DIR-615?

Please be advised I'm not exactly pro at this, just a self-made geek with lots of reading, and some past vague knowledge when I studied comp science like 10 years ago, and hence I seek everybody here for help. =)

Thanks for any advice, tips and/or help! =)

The Dlink DIR-615 is a more advance router as compare to Linksys WRT54GL. It has a faster CPU, more RAM and more advance feature such as VLAN which can provide better security feature if it is configure correct as compare to old WRT54GL.
thankyou

To reconfigure didn't take long. It took them about 15 minutes to reconfigure. To get them come over your house is really painful. I called them almost everyday to get them to come over...

All these information should have been emailed to you already to the email you use during registration.

I think the issue is not the hardware. It's the firmware TM chose to use. It constantly hangs or disconnects users.

Personally, I experience on a regular basis, my network connection totally gone, but wifi still shows connected.

@+Newbie+: Thanks!

During the test email

With the password, smtp.unifi.my can complete & OK, but
the pop.unifi.my keeps prompting me for password although i set the similar password for both.
Is the pop.unifi.my server having problem.
Both should be using the same password, right?
I mean if i can send means i should b able to receive also with the same password...Mmmm...

I tried rizvanrp's method, it work for 10mins and the dir615 hangs. And i can't access the DIR-615 thru 192.168.0.1. How can i access to this Dlink now, need to change its login and password or in case i need to revert back to original settings. Can someone help pls?
Thanks in advance.

Added on August 12, 2010, 11:27 pmfinally, power off and press reset button to set to factory default. Reload original settings. Still wonder why vlan bridging work but still hangs. Will not give up, try again over weekend.. damn TM firmware.
