QUOTE(akerue @ Aug 4 2010, 12:55 PM) It is very simple, disconnect the TM line from your junction box, then plug in the RJ11 telephone cable from "Tel" 1 port at your BTU to one of the telephone wall socket. All other wall sockets connected to it (including your alarm system) will now be on VOIP. It works for me. What a BTU ? British Thermal Unit ? |

QUOTE(StanleYz @ Aug 7 2010, 04:45 PM) TM ensure affordable Internet charges Vector August 6 - Telekom Malaysia Bhd . ( TM ) will study the rate of broadband subscription packages from time to time to ensure that Internet services more affordable and can be used by more users in the country. Chairman , Datuk Dr . Halim Shafie said the commitments made in line with the objectives of the government who want Internet penetration rates in the country rose to 75 percent by the end of 2015 . However , he said , TM is not yet decided its broadband subscription rate down to a lower level in the near future as it is still competitive in the market so far. " Streamyx broadband packages available we are now reduced to RM38 a month . By this payment , the public has been able to have broadband -speed 384 kbps . If you must speed , they only need to add a small fee . " Similarly, the package of high -speed broadband services ( HSSB ) , the rate of RM149 per month , it is still reasonable . " Of course people will compare our rates with Singapore , Malaysia , but in quite different circumstances because we have to provide higher cost , including to rural and remote areas . However , we can assure that the rates will be reviewed according to market conditions , " he said. He was speaking to reporters after the launch of Smart TM school program adopted executed Education of Singapore, Shahidan Abdul Rahman at the National School (SK ) Shoot , Kuala Ketil , near here today . the present is the CEO of TM , Datuk Seri Mohd Zamzamzairani . Jesus and General Manager TM Kedah / Perlis , Pauziah Taib . According to Halim , TM is also intensifying efforts to increase Internet penetration rate among households , especially in rural areas by providing attractive packages such as Broadband Package TM with Computer 1Malaysia . In the meantime , he was told , his party also improve service by adding service HSSB UniFi exchange to 22 more by the end of this year . He said the expanded coverage HSBB include industrial and residential areas in Penang , Johor , Kuala Lumpur , Putrajaya and Selangor . " The industries in the Kulim Hi - Tech Park ( NSW ) , Bayan Baru (Penang ) , Johor Bahru other than residential include Wangsa Maju , Sungai Buloh , Melawati , Kepong , Cyberjaya , Putrajaya and Damansara . " HSBB promising broadband network access at speeds faster than the 10Mbps speed of 4Mbps Streamyx service , " he said. He said this after more Malaysians the opportunity to enjoy the services with the expansion of service coverage HSSB UniFi by the TM , including areas outside the Klang Valley . " Based on the plan , by the end of this year , a total of 750,000 lines , including HSSB pass thru will be extended throughout the country , " he said . He said the target was believed to be achievable in view of TM so far managed to provide over 450,000 online HSSB across the country . " The project involves the provision of HSSB overall spending RM11.3 billion of which RM8.9 billion, while the TM issue remaining is the contribution from the Government of Pakistan, " he said. Meanwhile, Halim said , lifting the Smart School project aims to increase awareness of TM on the importance of academic achievement and mastery of information technology ( IT ) among rural students in the country. He said this year , in addition to SK Shoot , TM has selected three schools , namely SK Teriang , Negeri Sembilan ; School ( SMK ) feed , Sarikei , Sarawak and SMK Agama Repah , Negeri Sembilan to participate in the program . Each school will receive a contribution in the form of a computer and broadband equipment and training at a cost of RM200 , 000 each for a period of three years . QUOTE " Similarly, the package of high -speed broadband services ( HSSB ) , the rate of RM149 per month , it is still reasonable ." Reasonable my head. |

QUOTE(dannychen @ Aug 11 2010, 11:25 PM) they are simply wasting their $ by laying cables and they are not turning us into subscriber and collecting fees instead. Exactly... in selayang (near pasar borong baru here) the cabling work completed, white box fixed, saw the TM guys testing the cables and terminating it and plugging it into a switch nearby my place. Actually they should be able to launch the service here ready. They are still taking their sweet time. If this is how they going to move till 2012 they wont finish deploying. |

QUOTE(rizvanrp @ Aug 13 2010, 01:09 AM) VDSL2 = uses copper Using FTTH or VDSL2 wont make much difference for the speed unifi is offering (5/10/20mb)FTTH = uses fiber You probably wont have a choice in this matter but its better to get FTTH over VDSL2.. better performance IMO from what I've experienced unless in the near future we going to hv 100mbps connection then vdsl2 will loose out compared to ftth (fiber optic) |
