QUOTE(klseet @ Jul 31 2010, 10:51 PM) Sorry may I know what do you mean by "Signal too weak"? They'll make another appointment with me, this time with their network team to see can fix the DB box. Currently the DB box (green dustbin) has 24.8DB, which is NOT GOOD.How does it happen? You mean TM can't do anything?? |

After getting the unifi, I open up my utorrent to unlimited upload and download speed just to test how much speed it can go.
My observation, Max download speed 500KB on very healthy seed. Normal seed 200-300KB Max upload speed : 1.5MB, really lots of leechers out there... |

QUOTE(alextong8386 @ Aug 11 2010, 08:43 AM) What a customize router will help via VLAN bridging? It still connect to D-Link DIR 615. Since D-Link CIR 615 is the cause of the problem why not we just replace it? The Dlink will be doing less work when used as VLAN bridging only thus can cut down the chances on hanging/crashing.I configure my Dlink as Vlan bridge and uses Asus N16 and the router. The connection after I connect multiple pc + notebook + run VPN + P2P has become much more stable and no crash/hang of Dlink as happened yet. |

I am thinking, can I use a managed switch to split the different vlan channel to different ports so I no need to use the DIR615 as the VLAN bridge?

My DIR-615 has been working fine for 4 days when I am using it as vlan bridging. So I think if anyone use DIR-615 as vlan bridging, it won't break that easilly.
Thanks to pr0di9y's guide, I now can connect my Asus RT-N16 router directly to the Hwawei BTU. Next will be on how to do the IPTV VLAN 600 tag... |

QUOTE(klseet @ Aug 16 2010, 09:13 PM) When the TM ppl left my home right after they completed the installation, I immediately setup the DIR-615 [as per Rivanrp] since day1: Sure it will last much longer. Coz I already power it off and not using already. 1. as bridging mode only 2. turn-off the wifi 3. use AVR power supply 4. put on top of a cabinet with clear air-ventilation + notebook fan blowing on it Still, the WAN port died [others all still ok] on the 10th day...... Hopefully yours will last longer .... |

Guys,
I have decided to be a white rat. I'm going to order a HP Procurve 1700 8 port managed switch to replace the DIR-615 for the VLAN bridging work. Hope it will work. *pray* This post has been edited by yushin: Aug 30 2010, 07:10 PM |

QUOTE(D3vilsim @ Sep 3 2010, 02:35 PM) Anyone got any idea other then microtek what other switch we can try where can buy at malaysia now ?? I am trying to use HP procurve 1700 managed switch instead of Microtik. Damn HP told me the lead time for the switch is 2 to 4 weeks... really sian...thanks =) Now i am using the DIR-615 as VLAN bridge. I know the dlink already hang as I can't even open the dlink's management web page but the VLAN bridging seems to be working even tho the web page has hang. So I just keep using it and hope it does not get worse. |

Guys, good news.
I have confirmed HP Procurve 1700-8G can replace The Dlink for VLAN tagging and bridging work. Now I can really put the Dlink to rest. *now to test the IPTV thing...* This post has been edited by yushin: Sep 8 2010, 08:34 PM |
