Nope. Default router.
Planning to change now. Still figuring out how to put the VLAN for IPTV access.

Unifi 20Mbps installation done. IPTV not done as I wanted the new modem to be installed in my home office where my router (did not want to use TM's router) and switch were located, while I would want to watch TV in the living room or bed room, and not in the home office.

Secured the TM router using the advice given here.
Reconfigured the TM router to be a VLAN bridge (as per instruction in the above link), and am now using my router instead.

Did a few speed tests, see results below.

What different using the TM router to be a VLAN bridge vs own router? It still need to go through the D-Link 615. If it break down, we still cannot go online.

i'm curious as to the router TM provides. I have my own internal network currently and would rather rely on that one instead. I can't _just_ change the DIR-615 router itself? I still have to rely on it? Can't I just toss it and replace it w/ a new?

It's the indicator, nxt to the power light, for the fiber thingy on the white fiber stuff (clearly my knowledge of network stuff is bad)

Last time tm technician came my house and check took 2 hrs, later found out something bout network switch at their center got problem.
Or that is want they want me to believe lol

BTW, is there anyway that we can use the FTTH --> BTU and then after that, connect to our own router? The athena site says that you need to do the VLAN thingy?? Is the VLAN Thingy on the BTU unit or the DIR-615? (the BTW itself has 4 ports isn't it?)

guys, is Unifi reliable when uploading? Ive got heavy loads of uploading to do, that's one important reason I'm planning to change streamyx in the first place. so if it's good, let's go for it.

I am unsure myself, but I get the impression that maybe we have to keep the TM router in order to have IPTV connectivity. Anyone can confirm this?

VLAN thingy is on the DIR-615. Yes BTU has 4 ports, dunno what they're for. I suspect that the BTU is capable of acting as a router itself, but I am no expert on this.

Perhaps the athena site is suggesting use of the DIR-615 as a VLAN bridge because if something goes wrong with your connection, you can easily revert to the default installation so TM can troubleshoot?

So far so good...for over 1+ month, i am getting at least 90% (Except one time having problem with the router)..it's huge step forward from streamyx having only 384k....it's way over 10x faster
If you do a lot of upload...it's a way to go

After getting the unifi, I open up my utorrent to unlimited upload and download speed just to test how much speed it can go.

My observation,
Max download speed 500KB on very healthy seed. Normal seed 200-300KB
Max upload speed : 1.5MB, really lots of leechers out there...

Thanks all for the guide. Looks like another router is really needed if you want to torrent a lot.

The installer team will usually call the day before to confirm appointment time, but as with anyone else, mistakes and delays can happen.

What router do u use? Do you still use the VLAN bridging via D-Link 615 that was provided by Unifi? Is it same wiring recommendation as the athena website.
