Need help on my external hard disk...
it has 3.0 usb cable...
sometimes it can connect but sometimes cannot
if cannot then need unplug and plug until it can....

i have tried on my friend's n43sl jay chou edition laptop 3.0 port
cant connect at all

I think it come with two USB Plug Cable and you need to use the two USB Plug . If you use one it may not spin . What is the model of the External Hard Disc

i have a question, my old maxtor external hdd has an external power supply. Now that power supply already rosak, anyone know where can i get the replacement power supply unit?? since the hdd is usable, its a waste if we cannot get parts for it

If you can't find a replacement, then you could either move the HDD into your desktop or get a replacement external HDD casing without a HDD.

Hello. Ok i got Western Digital 1TB for my windows + data. But seem like it's getting slow. I heard 1TB got some problem if we use it as main hdd. Isit? So which hdd shud i get? 500GB is enuff for me since i can use my 1TB hdd for storage

i am using WD Blue 500gb, you could try either WD Blue of Samsung F3 for better performance compared to green

good evening guys, may i know how much should be the price for an used unit of 2.5" 500gb seagate portable (usb 2.0), still got warranty until 2015. somehow the unit got bad sectors, my frenz lazy to claim warranty and asked me to quote him a price. thks for your input~

RM100 as bad sector? the buyer also need to pay around RM15 to get the warranty.
since now new USB3 500gb is like RM190

rm115 for a usb2.0 replacement unit or rm190 for a brand new usb3.0 hmm.gif

Bestest bang-for-the-ringgit is Samsung 1TB HD103SJ @RM169. Good performance and runs cool.

Spinpoint F3 is the best for sure. But RM169 should no longer be possible unless it was old stock.

wondering what is the best & value for money for 2TB...
bcos cant get the exact information from price list in hardwarezone as the price stated without informing the spec such as rpm and others...

Seem the samsung 1.5TB and above is 5400rpm only and price @ RM250 and below... wondering worth or not...

possible to get Wester Digital AV DRIVE @ Rm280 for video file storage? as i planned to store high quality movies into...

let's say i only have the selection below (well, i'm buying from pc depot)
WD 2TB 64M (CAVIAR Green) 6 Gb/s = RM255
SEA2TB 64M (BARRACUDA Green) 6 Gb/s = RM262
WD 2TB 64M (AV-GP Green) = RM290
WD 2TB 64M (CAVIAR Black) 6 Gb/s = RM455

which i should get?
for backup/storing stuff purpose only, not going to boot from it (no need caviar black kua)

which one should be more reliable?
cos 2tb of data gone =

yeah, RM15 is like courier charges, where are you located at? If Selangor, you can create a RMA at Seagate.com then courier to the nearest address, usually Summit.

depends on you, Seagate is RMA turn around time is within 2 weeks, but they will send back an certified repaired hard disk,
if you can get it below 100, i think it can act like a spare hard disk for you

Me using it in NAS for 1yr+.
Is quite and no problem so far.
