Bestest bang-for-the-ringgit is Samsung 1TB HD103SJ @RM169. Good performance and runs cool.
You do the maths ya?

Spinpoint F3 is the best for sure. But RM169 should no longer be possible unless it was old stock.

any chance to RMA my external WD hdd if i lost my receipt and box?

You don't need receipt to RMA wd HDDs. WD offers the best warranty of all manufacturer. You can check your hdd warranty online. Just request an RMA and send it in. You can also request for advance replacement. Out of country warranty is allowed once per year.

Basically if you lost the receipt warranty would begin from the day WD manufactured the hdd. If you later found the receipt they will update the system with the later date on your receipt.

Request for an advanced replacement. They will charge your account. Send you a new hdd. Use the same box to send back your defective hdd. They will refund your credit card after receiving your defective hdd.

Sorry I didn't follow the whole thread. So don't flame me if I'm repeating the following info.

The flood in Thailand has messed up a lot of stuff particularly on WD HDD. There has been a shortage on WD hdd and other manufacturers are following suit in increasing the pricing biggrin.gif

I sent all my customers to lowyat plaza to get hdd last week because my cost was higher than what Czone and Cycom was selling. I think shops there have finally caught wind on the news and upped the prices laugh.gif
