mind to share with us which company is you working with?  hmm.gif

I rather not say out loud... but it's at the top end of this list: http://www.icis.com/Articles/2007/09/17/90...-companies.html

Is there any vacancy?  brows.gif

Of course there are. Apply from the career sections in their websites.

QUOTE(cierra_tansy)
I believe that not much company will pay so much for manager.

A manager in one company, may not be a manager in another company. It depends on the job scope (regional, global etc), how big is your portfolio and how profitable is the company.

But one word of qualification... is that the old American MNCs are very stingy on titles. Managers and sometimes senior managers from Big4 accounting firms join us as executives/analysts/specialists, because that's where their pay scale lies. It's quite common for our experienced finance analysts or finance managers to join other companies as financial controllers or finance directors/CFOs respectively. My previous boss who left us as a finance director joined a SGX listed company as CFO. He's now the Deputy CEO.

That would be BASF. Maybe they are not hiring at this moment. They should finish digesting the acquisition of Ciba soon. Could still have retrenchments instead of hiring though.

No harm just sending your resume in to HR to KIV.

You are right that not many companies in Singapore will pay that amount for a mid-level manager as SGD10K+ per month is in upper-middle management territory and above.

However, there are some global MNCs who do pay their middle management employees extremely well and not just the large banks.

I'm sure you'll think of something to spend it on. Seriously, a lot of people in Singapore draw that kind of salary. Look out for the Bottega or Hermes bags, Panerai wristwatches, Ferragamo shoes etc... Lots of them.

Chartered Semi no longer exists. It's now Globalfoundries. Got a number friends there who often complain about the place.

Can I extend my period of staying in singapore? If I entered singapore without employment pass and rented a room living there, then obtained the pass(1 year pass) few days later, then started working, how should I extend my period of staying?
or I have to take the employment pass, take a bus leave singapore custom then go in singapore with employment pass again? :S

I'm trying to rephrase your sentences.
You came to Singapore with a social visit pass. Subsequently you obtained a long term social visit pass. Thereafter, you were awarded with a job and I assumed you are given either a WP or EP. Why do you need to extend your stay when you have valid documents to continue to stay on? rclxub.gif

Another way of reading your queries is that now you have a LTVP and a EP, you are unsure if you can carry both. If i'm not wrong, right thing to do is, when you exit SG, you are suppose to hand over the LTVP and inform the officer that you obtained a EP. Check the ICA website or call them.

With so many people queuing and owning an LV bag, its exclusivity factor goes down the drain. If you want something more exclusive in singapore, get burberry blue label. Only japan sells this line of burberry products, got my mom a handbag over there.

The usual: China-man management style, fire-fighting etc... it got sold off to the Arabs because they have never made money all this while.
A good number have jumped ship to other companies.

If the arab owners can make money, this is a big slap to the china-man's face that their china-man management is not the way to go if they want 2 have a sustainable business. But then again a china-mans greed is as big as his ego.

TBH, running a semicon fab is tough. It costs about USD 3B to build and run a 45nm fab: AFAIK only Intel and TSMC (Taiwan) make money from their fabs, the rest all bleeding cash.

The Arabs might have brought the place, but its still the China-man calling the shots. The Arabs only got money but don't know how to run the place. sweat.gif
