What is wrong to think 1Chinese? It signifies how close the Chinese are around the world. The other races have nothing to lose, unless one is a racist who constantly think about zero sum game.
*
Like they say, to each their own. Like china i dont really agree with their politics, then again malaysias own government policy is equally absurd.

Shit... any advice how to finance property in Singapore? Seems to me monthly salary SG$5,000 also not enough. But then average household income is less than that. So, how does the middle income group survive in Singapore?
*
If i not mistaken the median household income around 5k. Alot of singaporeans who dont earn that much can survive, that means no eating out very often, no splurging of luxury goods, no holiday etc etc. But they still have a roof over their heads and food on the table, but for some people, that isnt surviving.

I highly doubt that LKY stays at avenue 6 since there doesnt seem to be a private reisdence area over there.

Coffee sure open late for the football fans so no prob, that should also go for bars.

hi everyone... i have a question.. i obtained my PR status on 2007 and i have since come back to Malaysia right after i obtain my PR. My PR status is still valid however i was told if i do not work in Singaore for more than 5 years my PR status will be revoked and i wont be able to reapply for PR in the future? is this true? So if i go back to Singapore to work for say 1 year and extend my PR before returning to Malaysia will they revoke my PR?
*
From what i gather, you can do the later whereby you get a job on short term basis just to renew your PR.

Indian nationals usually dont eat much meat.

Their meals consist of a bucket load of curry gravy and rice to match with it. They also have the equivalent of soup together with their rice and "sambal" which is mixed veges, not the malay sambal. Their mostly vegetarians.

*
Donno why malaysians like their old pillows and bolsters.

Out with the old, in with the new.

Great! Then I know I'l have friends there before I join, how nice!
I know he has made his decision but I personally think if someone is worth RM7k, he should be quite clear of what he wants in his career already, instead of looking solely at the monetary aspect
*
Who said ppl tend focus on career, alot of people focus on making as much money in the least amount of time so that they can retire early.

Hi guyz,

I am interested to work as software developer in Singapore.
Just got my degree in computing as fresh graduate.
Wondering what is the basic salary for a fresh graduate in Singapore.

Thanks
*
For fresh grad in singapore around 2.5K. But since your malaysian, you would get a little bit less then a local unless you studied from local uni like NUS.

I heard a few companies in the US are looking for software developer but for telecommunications sector, focusing on mobile user interface software developer. Primarily focusing on iphone and andriod OS. HP's new acquisition of palm are also looking for developers as well since they are going to roll out HP-Palm phones on webos.

Yea well but i'm a female. Just sharing how horrible is it to walk that much in high heels, if you are not used to walking to work. You definitely want to get a pair of good heels or walk in flats instead.
*
Women in general walk in high heels to look the part (whatever that may be for them) or to compensate for short stature or their job demands it.

at junior college level i think? because i have passion in teaching? the reason to teach in Singapore is because i can one stone kill two birds - fulfill my dream and at the same time still able to provide allowance to my family and have savings.

doubt i can still provide the same amount of allowance to my family (that i provide now) if i venture into teaching in msia for the first few years.

is it really that muntah darah?
*
Wait till you meet the singapore student, i have one singaporean fren who worked as a teacher in one of the schools, but after a year tak boleh tahan the attitude of the students. Coz if the student complain about you (and trust me, its singaporeans favourite past time), you'll be hauled for disciplinary action and be told off by both the parents and the principal (just to jaga the school muka).

nod.gif for most school.

each type of school have their own type of problem as the targeted student are different. JC means student have good O'level result and are aiming to enter good uni cources, very demanding bunch. The character of some singapore student are very interesting, I wish you good luck. Have you seach youtube for video of JC student fliming their teacher?

A good number of student have the mentality that they are the paying customer that expect you should service them up to their satisfaction. If they fail, it is not because they stupid, it is the teacher don't know how to teach. Your get the blame from school, parent and the student. To these student, teacher have no right to lecture them on their bad behaviour. They will tell you "my parent never lecture me, who are you to lecture me?". One JC principle was force to resign because he punished one JC student.

You know teacher don't just teach right? you better jump in with your eyes open. blink.gif
*
Oh, forgot you can see the torture right on youtube. Nowadays with 3G technology, all your actions can be video recorded and posted on youtube with video evidence. But one thing its true is that since there is no public schools but most of them are pirvate but follow guidelines of MOE, the students are paying customers and if they dont get what they want, then they have the right to screw you good and proper to make you know where your place is in the school.

it is called consumer rights. even if my parents if showing those stupid attitude, they don't deserve my respect. Only those teacher that is good deserve my respect. I do have some teacher that i will respect if what they said is true and not some useless and arrogant teachers that wants u to do it only using her way even u have a better way to solve ur issue.
*
I didnt know its consumer rights to scold people for a public institution. Sounds alot like the typical singaporean whereby when they have a grouse with school authorities, they spew their displeasure on the school authorities. Since singapore schools arent public government schools but more like private schools, i guess students and parents have the right to blast their head off whenever they feel dissatisfied.

If you have a better way, why not just stop going to school and do home study since if you believe that your better then this, why bother fighting with them since their useless and your method is way better.

QUOTE(cks2k2 @ May 18 2010, 06:38 PM)
Forget about getting a teaching job for now, unless you're a citizen. It used to be no one wanted to be a teacher and PRs were filling the positions, but with the economic crisis suddenly everyone wants to be one (iron rice pot) and the priority is given to citizens.
Except for a few private and independent schools, the rest are public govt schools. Just that they're run like a private one.
*
More like a business which deals in education, so since parents pay for it, they expect to be serviced like a customer whereby when their not satisfied, their entitled to express their displeasure and try to cause as much inconvenience to the school authorities. Its human nature to derive pleasure from the misfortune of others.
