You came to Singapore with a social visit pass. Subsequently you obtained a long term social visit pass. Thereafter, you were awarded with a job and I assumed you are given either a WP or EP. Why do you need to extend your stay when you have valid documents to continue to stay on? 

Another way of reading your queries is that now you have a LTVP and a EP, you are unsure if you can carry both. If i'm not wrong, right thing to do is, when you exit SG, you are suppose to hand over the LTVP and inform the officer that you obtained a EP. Check the ICA website or call them.

This is what I understand so far:
1. You are in MY right now. You have a job waiting in SG.
2. Your boss in SG is applying work permit for you (under processing).
3. You are coming down to SG. Not sure what to write for 'stay duration' in white card (IMM27A).

You cannot write 1 year, sure ICA will question you.
Just write 30 days, when you go to MOM to hand-in the documents for work permit (in-approval letter, uni cert etc) MOM will stamp your white card. If you need to leave SG during this time, show this stamped white card to ICA, they will know what to do.
When you go to collect your work permit, MOM will keep the white card. Now you don't need white card anymore for entry/exit.

half is not expensive, its standard, there are some agents who want a months rental rather then half.

Hello... your personal situation is not relevant lah. It's normal business practice.

That's like saying your salary should be based on what your expenses are, instead of your skills and experience.

If you really can't afford the agents' fee, then don't use an agent. Work harder to search for flats direct from the owner / main tenant.

you email them or you call?...room/house renting here is consider a hot market...unless it's a haunted house...else it's very easy for owner to rent it out...dont expect them to reply your email..i try ady last time..they will never reply you.

what you need to do is call~..if you engage agent..u can tell the agent your requirements on the room...then they will help you filter and nego..mine initially landlord ask fro 650..then my agent help me deal with 600~..

ooo...then i advise you to save the money for deposit....sometime if really urgent..you might try borrow with your family member...

this is consider as an investment..if you really dont want to engage agent..then you really need a lot of luk to get a room
