When I'm in Singapore, my expenses are very much regulated. In KL, especially when I travel everyday by car, traveling expenses itself is almost closed to RM900 (Petrol rm500 ~ rm 600, toll rm100, maintenance rm200/month). In SG, I only spend $80 for public transport, another $100+ for taxis occasionally.

need to ask u all something, is there a website/forum where i can find room to rent and share the whole unit with other bunch of tenants in SG without going through agent? Most room-for-rent ads need to go through agents and most likely to stay with owners.

I am having problems with this as well. So far I use Roomsdb.net, Easyroommate.sg, Share Accomodation and Flathub...its been very hard to find also. Previously I used Sg-house managed to find quite a few non-agent ads but nowadays through sheer volume, agent ads have flooded most of these sites that it's become virtually impossible to find and connect with people who are renting out directly.

If possible I would also like to find houses...preferbly ones that don't have to stay with owners. Blessed when are you going over to Sg to work?

I am also looking for a place now . I found my previous place using the newspaper classifieds  and even went to craigslist to scout for plces. Like u mention a lot of these guys are agents and manyare co-broke which makes it worse. I m thinking of staying put in SK but a 2+1 unit already cost about 1.4k,  cant imagine places like Tampines and Paris Ris.

Maybe we find a place together and rent the whole unit together...

My current landlord already sold the place, so, I'm getting ready to move out within the next 8 weeks or so. Right now i'm putting up in Bukit Batok Central.

Question.

If my current landlord ends the tenancy contract early because they managed to sell the place, do I get some form of compensation? I wish to at least get back my agent fees and deposit.

Very sad to move out from Bukit Batok...

18% GDP as compared to last's year figure, of course it's high! Next few years will not see such a huge jump.

what's the deal with Singaporean and their anti foreign talents (FTs) perception in Sg? A few occasion, when i hang out with my singaporeans colleagues after work, i find myself been trapped in their discussion on FTs, how FT are taking over their jobs, blah..blah..blah... I feel a little uncomfortable knowing that I'm from Msia, aka a foreigner too. Maybe they forgot I'm foreigner in singapore.

So, are they really anti FT till the extend of anti Malaysian?? or they are targeting only those from China, India, Philippines ??

hi blessedvillain,
just ignore that, no point feeling uncomfortable..
i've been in situation far more worse than this, where the racism is more serious in which they openly ask you to go home, what i would do is just smile and wave knowing deep down inside that even your so called great ancestors are immigrants too..

that aside, alot of singaporeans i know, instead of whining, they would upgrade themselves with more knowledge and skillset to climb up the corp. ladder.

so, they ARE targeting FT from Malaysia too! that's just sad because I thought Singaporeans are ok with Malaysians coming to Singapore to seek for fairer job opportunities, knowing that Malaysians (non-bumi) are discriminated by Msia system. Now it seems that we are again discriminated in Singapore..... doh.gif

anyway, most of my Singaporean colleagues are still treating me as normal, but their issue with FTs is really not helping at all. doh.gif
