Ok, I've just applied CIMB Bank Mastercard a few months ago I dont know which card to apply though, it is just too confusing, any comment for this CIMB Mastercard?

Used it before for roughly 15 months. It was a CIMB Gold Mastercard. They always called whenever i bought something off the internet which is great (**I'm using HSBC VISA and Mastercard now and i can tell you they never call even if i buy something from overseas through the internet which i am not too happy about). Tons of discount year-round and the redemption points needed for shopping vouchers are much less than any other banks' credit cards.

QUOTE(nickenstein @ Oct 5 2009, 05:24 AM)
and something that I dont really understand, it is stated that:
Absolutely Free For Life - Experience year after year of financial freedom with no joining or annual fees, ever

but at the 'Fee and Charges' page, it is stated:
Annual Fee
Principal
- Platinum Free For Life
- Gold RM140
- Classic RM70

mine is the Classic, so does the annual fee apply?
Don't worry about it. Yours will be free for life as well. However for Classic and Gold card supplementary credit cardholders, they do have annual fee for these. Only the the Platinum supplementary card(s) are free. So you will need to call it every year to get the annual fee waived if you have a Classic or Gold supplementary card issued.

Don't think so you could do so with your HLC cc. Even if possible, you have to pay additional fees to the bank as this is not counted as Interest Free installment plan.

Example :
1. SCB, Above RM500, 7.99%, 12 months
2. CIMB / DA, iPay Plan, Above RM1K, 2%, 10 months (Not sure whether this plan still exist)

The bank has studied your spending pattern and will only call you to clarify if there are extraordinary expenses. Last time Alliance Bank kept calling me when I spent a few grand in a single receipt. Nowadays, Alliance doesn't even bother to call me if I swipe 10k in a single receipt. But I do appreciate if the bank could make a security effort by giving me a buzz even though I am abroad when I swipe the card.

I don't really get what you meant. smile.gif

We were talking about Interbank Giro limit of 5k per day while you were referring to Credit Limit of cc. For cc, you can swipe up to any amount within your CL. For example, if your CL is 100k and your cc doesn't carry any outstanding balance, your can spend up to 100k and your cumulative spending (yet to be settled) cannot be more than 100k. The CL is on "available" amount limit basis.

OIC. sorry silly me. suppose this is cc thread and suddenly mentioned abt the card limit. i did not read properly and tot it was cc limit instead of giro... blushhh doh.gif

I remember that was a tai kor mentioned about pledge time deposit with hsbc's platinum card back in V7, but i juz couldn't retrieve it. May the tai kor tell me which branch he pledges the time deposit with?? I went to USJ branch just now, and I was told to have at least RM150k.

You can apply for both Maybank and CIMB Bank credit cards. Both are quite good especially CIMB Bank Mastercard. Lots of discount year-round.

No. He's not a taikor. Anyway, the VISA was applied through HSBC Kota Kinabalu branch. For Classic VISA/Mastercard i believe RM5000 is enough while Gold VISA/Mastercard you will probably need RM10,000.

As for HSBC Platinum credit card, the minimum credit line is RM30,000. So your time deposit cannot be less than RM37,500.

He/she probably didn't understand what you were asking. RM150k is the minimum annual salary needed if you apply using salary slips as stated at the back of their Platinum VISA application form.

With at least RM37500 in Time Deposit you can get a HSBC Platinum VISA. I am however not sure if this is available for everyone or just HSBC Premier customers. You can check with them again.

You mean you have RM75000 in Time Deposit ? Since it will be matured in a few days you can go to any HSBC branch and tell them not to renew it. You can then split it in two. If you have access to HSBC online banking then you can update the maturity instruction yourself.

Alliance Younique MC. Remember to choose "rebate" option. Income requirement is pretty low, at RM18k per annum.
