QUOTE(winner @ Sep 21 2009, 04:40 PM) Except the various PB privileges, other features of the SCB PB VI are same as the normal SCB VI. any idea which shopping mall we can find SCB cc booth?SCB did give RM50 rebate as an early bird incentive to 1st 1000 approved Just1 cardholders. Besides, it also gave 5000 choice points to each Just1 members as a welcome gift. I guess you will still be given 5000 choice points. Bear in mind that on top of the 2% or 5% cash back, SCB Just1 cc will only give 0.5x point for every RM1 spent in overseas, unlike SCB Plat cc and VI which grant 3x points and 5x points respectively for overseas transactions. |

my experience with credit card points gift redemption:
Maybank - extremely slow, cannot apply via online, must apply via fax or snail mail, usually takes 4-6weeks for processing till receiving the gift. They send the gift through poslaju and frequently they will leave a message in your mailbox asking you to collect it at their office in Cheras Shamelin Perkasa. HSBC,Citibank - very efficient, within a few days the gift will reach your house, can apply via online. |

According to the budget 2010, start from Jan 1, 2010 every credit card - RM50 service tax yearly, supplementary card - RM25 service tax yearly. If there is annual fee, we gotta pay it together with service tax.
Charge cards (eg. AMEX) will be charged RM50 service tax yearly too. The only unclear thing is debit card, any clarifications on this? |

QUOTE(ellimist @ Oct 24 2009, 11:15 AM) Yeah, as hye mentioend previously, like the 97 days, banks will have to buck up again and start being really competitive, since hardly anyone would want to hold multiple cards from different banks. I think I will keep my citibank master only... easier to pay bills through internetBut I do think some will shift focus to the debit cards. Maybank seemed to launch their new one (master card debit) at just about the right time |

QUOTE(fauzistt @ Oct 31 2009, 11:40 PM) ..i mean the flip flop policies were in the past, i think the service tax is to stay.. not that i'm happy about it... surely the RM50 service tax is going to stay, and most likely banks will push the burden to their customers. The only thing that we can do is to terminate all the credit cards and use cash |

QUOTE(winner @ Nov 9 2009, 10:10 AM) Do make sure it is fully cancelled. Otherwise RM50 service tax will be charged on 1st January immediately. just need to make sure you terminate the card before 31 Dec 2009.This also applies to other banks. Do ensure you cancel the CCs 2-3 weeks early to avoid argument with banks later. Added on November 10, 2009, 7:13 pm QUOTE(bingozero @ Nov 9 2009, 10:30 PM) yes you can call them and declare loss card and terminate the card at the same timeThis post has been edited by muscaa: Nov 10 2009, 07:13 PM |

QUOTE(jack2 @ Nov 13 2009, 08:23 PM) cut those c.c. which doesn't give discount or provide lousy banking service (or PM brother's bank Added on November 13, 2009, 9:23 pm QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Nov 13 2009, 05:46 PM) I now had to tell her that I had just dropped my card in a drain and wanted to report a lost card. Five minutes later, her superior told me he had to charge me RM50 for losing my card. this is a bit strange... i've tried to deal with the same bank before, reported loss of c.c. and able to terminate the card at the same time without being charged RM50 for card replacement. This post has been edited by muscaa: Nov 13 2009, 09:25 PM |

QUOTE(cheez @ Nov 20 2009, 05:40 PM) Regarding the credit card tax, I personally think that it is wiser to charge the tax over the 3RD CARD ONWARDS for any cardholder. This will definitely be more effective in controlling the number of cards and not affecting the economy of the market. the govt is desperate for money (to distribute to their 1msia cronies later)... that's what i look at the RM50 service tax.Man, why are we having such stupid goverment. To Najib or the Finance Minister (duno wat is his name), if you are reading this thread right now, go and rework the plan. |

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Nov 24 2009, 10:32 PM) go to public bank and fill in a form to add the cc to your online banking i think PBB is the best bank... i terminated their credit cards and within 2-3 days they have sopped me from viewing the account online.this is the most troublesome bank, other banks either will show up automatically or can manually add in the ob Maybank took me 1-2 months.... |

citibank just increased my credit card credit limit to RM25k. Kinda scary figure for me. Going to terminate it soon and the credit increase is too late...

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Dec 5 2009, 01:32 PM) It shows that CIMB Bank is a very inconsistent bank, both in terms of service and informations provided to their customers/potential customers agree too... initially CIMB / DA gave 10% rebate on books bought at MPH, but later they withdrew it. I'm wondering whether they will continue the 2% petrol rebate start from 2010. |
