True. Once you agree to take up the offer, they will save the phone conversation in case they need to use it as court evidence should you one day fail to service your loan. It is what called "kontrak kolateral" and it is fully legit.

Agrred with Gen-X. It is not about whether you pay double or not but the fact remains that you failed to demonstrate good disipline in paying your monthly dues. It is easy to just rant about the bank but what if that person is your friend and you are the one giving him loans ? You dare to give your friend more access to debt ? shoduken ... IMHO I think you are @ fault when the bank refuses to give you CL upgrade. CL upgrade is a priviledge not a facility that you can just ask when you think you deserve it.

Shouldn't we transition to v9 now?

Before we go to v9, first page should mention about RM50 tax

1. MBB - Tax imposed on card anniversary and can use 10,000 TP to offset the tax.
2. As of 18 Dec 2009 according to tgeoklin, banks willing to waive RM50 UOB, SCB and HSBC on case to case basis.
3. As of 18 Dec 2009, what I was told - UOB gives Smart$ Points RM50 if accept their promotion (a) swipe 3 times above RM100 within 14 days or (b) do Balance Transfer or © activate 2 or more auto debit account. For my Visa I went with (a).
4. I cancelled my UOB Plat Mastercard card and was offered the RM50 tax if sign up for 2 auto debit account which I declined. tgeoklin on the other hand was offered the RM50 tax waiver for his UOB Plat CC with CL RM1K

Also the following should be admended or added

1. Annual fee matters
No need to request for waiver
UOB Platinum - swipe 12 times for each card or if have both MC and Visa swipe 6 times for each card.
OCBC Platinum Robinson - this card no longer issued.
