actually the scb justone will be relaunch but dunno when
*
If the technical issue is unsolved, reissue of this product will forever be postponed to an infinite date.

Luckily I got mine earlier.  icon_rolleyes.gif

Now still can apply JustOne sub card for my family member? To get more rebate. hehe.
*
I also wish to apply for a supp card after my existing card reached the max rebate limit. However, the issuance of new Just1 card is suspended, including supplementary cards.

QUOTE(DarReNz @ Sep 17 2009, 01:02 AM)
oh ya the free travel insurance coverage etc doesn't apply to scb justone
*
Yes, it is not advisable to use SCB Just1 to purchase air tickets. Sometimes the cc gives you lots of direct benefits, it would make adjustment and omit other things. For instance, Amex Gold cc gives 5x points for certain transactions, but it also does not provide travel insurance. sad.gif

Guys, how does the Alliance Bank Younique card rebate system works ? How much is the cap ? It was mentioned before but i didn't really pay attention to it as i wasn't interested in Alliance Bank credit card then  sweat.gif  All information about the system i found in their website is about their regular credit card only.

[attachmentid=1202616]
*
Haha...let the "expert" tell you. blush.gif I always monitor closely on my spending using this cc so that the rebate can be maximised.

The max rebate per month is RM68.25, for up to a max purchase of RM5000. The rebate is given to ALL retail transactions, including purchases at petrol stations. On top of that, you will be given 1x point for every RM1 spent (excluding petrol stations).

The rebate is based on tiered system as follows:
RM500 or less - 0.5% ===> 2.50
RM501 to RM1350 - 0.7% ===> 5.95
RM1351 to RM2550 - 0.9% ===> 10.80
RM2551 to RM5000 - 2.0% ===> 49.00

For example, if you spend RM3000 in a month, your total cash rebate is calculated as follows:
RM500 or less - 0.5% ===> 2.50
RM501 to RM1350 - 0.7% ===> 5.95
RM1351 to RM2550 - 0.9% ===> 10.80
Balance RM450 - 2.0% ===> 9.00

Therefore, total rebate for RM3000 spending per month is RM28.25.

These few days when I login to view my JustOne statements, there seems to be a problem.  A lot of entries are duplicated, making it difficult to track the items.  1 purchase can be listed 5 times  ohmy.gif

This card is still in hot topic after almost 5 months' launch. We would like to see duplication of rebates, rather than retail purchases. tongue.gif

Aiya, cannot apply sup card as well.  Thanks for the clarification.
What is the technical issue? So far no problem using the card, only have issue with one bank Credit card device, which no way to read the card.
*
A lot of customers complaint about transaction failure at several merchants and ATM machines. I reckon if SCB can forego DEBIT function for Just1 card, all these problems can be solved. smile.gif

I realize that many former in lowyat are holding citibank cc, i want to know what is the benefit with citibank cc compare with another bank cc?
*
Citi cc promoters are very aggressive. Citi has the highest number of customers in cc segment in Malaysia. Their CS staff are experienced and well trained. Their cards are well recognised worldwide.

They try to lure customers in by giving new applicants freebies, regardless of whether the application is successful or not. However, after you are already in and become their cardholders, you will find the benefits offered are just so-so, except for discount at various mid to high-end F&B outlets.

@MilesAndMore :Regarding MBB, I'm assuming that's relating to customer base and not in terms of usage?

MBB has been offering alot of free for life and pre approved cards, probably the reason why their customer base has increased tremendously. Also the fact that loadsa payrolls go into m2u, so ppl prefer the convenience of paying off their bills via m2u.

But really, in terms of usage, I wonder if their the top. I have a pre approved MBB Petronas Visa myself, I just took it cause it's free, but I've never used it. It's been in my drawer for quite some time now =p

But I do agree with you, in terms of privileges, CIMB has been pretty aggresive over the past year or so, which is a good thing for us XD
Citibank still does have pretty good privileges, and there're special ones each month which they update on their site, so it's still pretty good I reckon (though I don't use my Citi card much)
*
Yes, in terms of receivables, Citi is still at the top. smile.gif

http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...15&sec=business

Citi itself is already a "brand" and very well recognised, while HSBC is catching up. This round of global financial crisis has somehow reversely affected Citi's image.

direct access=CIMB, like AMEX=Maybank  tongue.gif

Not quite right. smile.gif Although MBB acquired Amex business in Malaysia, products offered by both entities are very much different. As such, there are big disparities in their features like interest rates of installment plan and balance transfer as well as participating merchants.

On the other hand, DA is fully owned by CIMB and both offer pretty standard features especially rates and promotions from time to time.

Conclusion - MBB Petronas Card Lowest Fees for Overseas Transactions. But Alliance have 2X rewards points and cash back.
*
Thanks again for your effort in updating us on forex rates. I'm surprised that MBB Petronas card could stand out in the crowd this time around, even though we are aware that MBB imposes a 0.5% admin charge on overseas spending vs Alliance who always claim to have zero charge on overseas transactions.

and yes, some cannot detect at the kiosk...must go into the counter to pay. I just tried that yesterday at BHP SS2.

My Amex cc had been rejected twice at both kiosk and counter in 2 different Petronas stations. Now I switch to Shell, hastle free. tongue.gif

May be the card holder is not a bumi? AFAIK, all Petronas station are not being given to non-bumi to operate.
*
Hey...It has nothing to do with races. smile.gif Just use your Amex at Shell, and all those problems will disappear.

On the other hand, if you use Just1, it is hastle free to swipe it in Petronas, because kioks at Shell can't recognise Just1. Otherwise, you need to do it over the counters in Shell stations.

It is already known for quite some time that Petronas kiosk cannot detect AMEX and you need to swipe it at the cashier. Some have also said that certain Petronas stations do not even accept AMEX, even if at the cashier counter.
*
I guess either MBB or Petronas purposely do not fix the problems in Petronas stations. It could probably a measure to protect MBB Petronas cc. biggrin.gif

Amex gold cc which gives 5x points for ALL petrol purchases will kill MBB Petronas cc that provides 5x points for petrol purchases at Petronas only. smile.gif

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Sep 20 2009, 06:44 PM)
Anyway I want to comment on DA/CIMB stupid payment system. I have both MCW and VI and supp to my wife. Therefore got 4 different statements for each card. When I go make payment I have to key in each card statement at the cheque deposit machine and this also often the amount is not credited into my supp card (i.e. payment to my account only). Last month CIMB stupid machine cannot make payment for VI. So had to make payment to MC account and then call CS to transfer. DA sure wasting my time and money for phone calls. If not for the 5% rebate at TESCO and Petrol on 1st of every month I would have just put the card into the drawer.
*
Sometimes poor system and CS would really give us a "heart attack". biggrin.gif

This is a different scenario. My Alliance Younique MC and Plat VISA used to have different payment due dates. I requested Alliance to show retail transactions of these 2 cards in a single statement and consolidate them into a same payment due date. And now, it really saves my time to settle the monthly payments. tongue.gif

hey guys is it true that now Standard Chartered will give you 100 into ur credit card once you activate it?
*
When I was in a shopping mall few weeks ago, a cc promoter from SCB told me that SCB would give welcome gifts of RM100 cash for Plat cc and RM50 cash for Gold cc, applicable to NEW SCB cardholders only.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Sep 21 2009, 12:09 AM)
The card is nicely designed. Comes with a more generous rebate compared to the old OCBC Great Eastern Mastercard. You all big spender should definitely apply for this card but bear in mind that there is a cap. The maximum rebate for Platinum is RM3000/pa and RM2000/pa for Titanium card.
*
QUOTE(DarReNz @ Sep 21 2009, 03:05 AM)
this new ocbc card, to get the rebate 2 & 3% need to spend more than RM20k/year after that it resets back to zero spending the following year ?

We have discussed this card in the "American Express Thread". See my posts #2259 at Page 113 and #2261 at Page 114.

It's only a marketing gimmick. Even public can apply for SCB VI now.

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Sep 21 2009, 11:53 AM)
Ya the promoter also told me this I wasn't sure about that so I just drop by to confirm. You also got RM100 cash in ur account? I'm waiting for my card to come heh
*
I didn't apply for SCB Plat cc as I have already got other SCB cards. Even if I apply for it, I won't be given RM100 as the welcome gifts will only be given to new customers.

It's different actually as the VISA Infinite for Standard Chartered Priority Banking customers have "Priority Banking" embossed on it. Just like the HSBC Premier Mastercard.
*
Except the various PB privileges, other features of the SCB PB VI are same as the normal SCB VI.

QUOTE(DarReNz @ Sep 21 2009, 04:19 PM)
i am a new customer but i apply the justone at the bank so no RM100 for me.
*
SCB did give RM50 rebate as an early bird incentive to 1st 1000 approved Just1 cardholders. Besides, it also gave 5000 choice points to each Just1 members as a welcome gift. I guess you will still be given 5000 choice points.

Bear in mind that on top of the 2% or 5% cash back, SCB Just1 cc will only give 0.5x point for every RM1 spent in overseas, unlike SCB Plat cc and VI which grant 3x points and 5x points respectively for overseas transactions.

You don't even know which card you apply for by simply signing the form(s)? smile.gif Won't be surprised that the agent will apply more than 1 cc for you.

If the amount to be credited is RM100, then the cc should be a Plat.

QUOTE(Darkmage12 @ Sep 22 2009, 12:25 AM)
Oh so this card got nice rebate so they temporarily suspend the application? Normal Platinum don't have rebate right? JustOne also have the RM100 credit?
*
No point to discuss the early bird credit note for Just1 over and over again as new application is already suspended. biggrin.gif

Apart from SCB Just1, another SCB cc which offers cash back is SCB Business Plat. However, the rebate rate is not great.

You shouldn't sign the form blindly. For ALL my CCs I applied, I always filled in the form myself. You should tick the cc you wanna apply for by yourself. Hopefully it is not a personal loan form. biggrin.gif

I don't bother. It requires you to carry forward balance in order to get the rebate.

The best cash back CCs at this moment are SCB Just1, Alliance Plat and Alliance Younique.

are all citibank cards require that to get the rebate ?

I think so. Some banks are very cunning and cc promoters normally won't tell you the details if you don't ask them. But it is on a "willing-buyer-willing seller" basis. The T&Cs are clearly stated in the booklet and website. You can't really blame the banks for customers' ignorance.
