I had to apply credit card, because need to register for exam, the only payment accept is credit card.I am looking at CIMB CC now, cos very convenient.

1.can u check ur credit card statement in CIMBclicks like ATM card?
*
Yes you can. You'll need a pin number for that. By default I don't think they send you one. So when you apply, specify that you'll be wanting a pin number for your CC.

Yes. You can. And just like ellimist said, you need to request for it.

Don't even bother to apply for Public Bank credit card. The cash rebate is super low at only 0.3% when most banks that are also using cash rebate system give 0.5%. There rarely is a promotion. You should just forget about Public Bank and apply for Maybank or CIMB Bank credit cards instead. Good luck !

Most bank is like that. On top of that, they are likely to have combined the CL of all your cards that were issued by them. The RM1,000 + your previous card RM8k makes it a total combined of RM9k.

It is the CS that does it. No need to complain la ... if they insist you to enroll auto billing say you don't like to use facility and ask them to still consider you for AF waiver + call you back later if they need to ask someone senior to approve. If can .... good for you if not then cancel card and reapply later.

Normally I just say I'll prefer an unconditional AF waiver and often I'll get it. The few times I don't get it, the CS get shocked when I replied then can proceed with card cancellation. What happen next is the long persuasion by them to get me to stay on. icon_rolleyes.gif

It is not base on lucky draw. Last champaign, you have to be 1 of the 5 top spender of the month to win the signed jersey, if you are the top then you can fly to Old Trafford!!! But that was old-batch champaign, I am not too sure about this re-launch MUFC CC is it still the same T&C.

Maybank's. Because the recent comparison shown that Maybank is the lowest after factoring in the loss of exchange rate and bank's admin charge. The second lowest would be Alliance Bank. The highest is Standard Chartered Bank. So remember that unless you will be reimbursed for your overseas spending, you should never ever use your Standard Chartered Bank credit card while overseas.

Oh ... There are so many actually. But since he/she doesn't have any credit score record in USA, almost 99% that his/her application will be rejected. Things work very differently in the US. One needs to build up his/her credit card before he/she attempts to apply for a credit card. One can also build your credit score rating by using your USA issued debit card.

Some of the "hottest" credit cards in the USA now are :
- CHASE Freedom VISA/Mastercard by Chase**
- BankAmericard VISA by Bank of America (there are 3 types)
- Accelerated Cash Rewards American Express Card by Bank of America
- Weekend Mastercard by HSBC
- Dividend Platinum Select by Citibank (for college students only)

**Chase's full name is actually JP Morgan Chase but for their retail banking business only the name "Chase" is used.

Hi sifu here...

Just now receive Citibank call for asking me interest on their Flexi Payment Plan.. Anyone try this service before?

Basically bank will deposit a certain amt to any of my local bank, and i have to take money to pay all my outstanding amt. Thereafter, if i choose 12months, thn i will pay a figure based on 9.88%p.a.

My question is .. Can i do early settlement? and if i owe 10k, is it worth for me to take this plan?

You'll be surprised with just how many people in US are using debit cards. In fact almost everyone there also have checking account and a debit card in the USA can only be issued if you have a checking account with the respective bank. All these accounts also come with overdraft facility by default but be warned, the fee is very very high.

Yes. Debit card is accepted everywhere in the US and it can also be used at Southwest Airlines and Jetblue website to buy tickets.

You can get the list in the previous version of credit card thread. AMEX has high overseas admin charge at 2.5%. If my memory serves me correctly, HSBC is a bit lower compared to Citibank according to the data provided by GHz smile.gif

It is not right to force customers using such ugly tactic. It was probably from those unethical cc sales agents or CS officers.

It looks like Citibank doesn't really appreciate you as a loyal customer of 10 years. Perhaps Citibank has huge customers base and can't really take care of every customer. Anyway, if you feel the cc doesn't give much benefit to you, you can cancel it as there are many other choices in the market.

If your friend is a Citigold or HSBC Premier customer in Malaysia, it is good to carry a cc from either Citibank or HSBC as deposit/transfer activities will be much convenient.

You will pay heavy price if you are not discipline and don't understand the concept of such scheme.
