I accidentally pushed my selector to N while driving today, while at around 90-100 km/h. After realising that, I immediately reselected D. Is it ok? Nothing happened though. The gear engages smoothly during that moment.

I feel the lag of changing gear, not much just a short jiggle. Do you all also feel it? or there is some problem with mine? When you switch from N to D or R, of cos you feel the gear engaged. But when driving, do you guy feel the gear changing? just a short jiggle on changing gear on low rpm. I dont feel anything on high rpm.

Going into N I know is harmless. But going into D while going at speed. It was about 90km/h at that time. Ok eh? It engages smoothly, no prob..

so, i've just got my ride! driving on 1st day, some probs as mentioned earlier came out:
1. air-con rattling sound unsure.gif
2. wiper wash - no water come out doh.gif
3. loud kluk-kluk sound came out from right hand tyre (is it the lower arm??) during turning up and down on multi-storey carpark. This is so unacceptable!! the sound sounds very scary.. is like the arm going to break!! mad.gif
4. confirmed with the the SC that the safety belt signal will not blink.. only applicable for perdana, but i wonder y they still put the icon there. i tot perdana meter is different. wink.gif

the rest unknown.. still hope nothing more else will appear! whistling.gif

What are the model launches you have in the pipeline?
Next year will be the Waja replacement launch. Hopefully, if everything goes well, next will be the Perdana. After that will be the Persona, which will be our next generation global car… We will not allow cars to be more than seven years old. Actually, five years is our target. The Persona was launched in 2007, so in 2012, it will be five years old. We need to launch our global car (the new Persona)… it must have a global reach. It will be a symbolic model.

It must compete with the models of Hyundai, Toyota and Honda… we are getting an Italian company to do the styling. You need to think big… I told our chief designer… no offence but for this new Persona, I want the Italians to do the styling. The look must break down barriers. Even the Japanese use it, so why not us?
The Edge -Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir

Looks like we gonna have a new model on 2012 if everything goes well icon_rolleyes.gif

Congrats on getting your new Proton Problema. Let us know if the Proton SCammer can settle the problems.

Before you go there, wait for the other problems to appear.

- Poor radio reception
- "kok" sound from lower arm
- squeaks from the back (if folding seat)
- steering wheel radio buttons on HL and SE (Shit Edition)

No need to pray..just accept the fact that the quality sucks.
Bear in mind, you pay PEANUTS, you get MONKEYS, alot of them too....

Already get used to the followings:
1. The front metal clunking sound when turning on uneven ground, be it left or right.
2. The rattling sound at the air-cond blower.
3. The non-functioning ignition keyhole light.
4. The non-functioning seatbelt warning indicator.
5. Town-driving fuel consumption sucks, less than 300km full tank at RM63 Ron95.
6. Bad radio reception.
7. Except for the foglight button that turns to green, the rest of the buttons "seems" flawed for Shit Edition (SE).
8. Irresponsible, non-trained, scamming Proton SCs and their mechanics.

Still waiting for the followings to occur:
1. Haywired steering wheel radio buttons.
2. and more....

Else, go for the new Toyota Vios 1.5J (AT) lowest specs priced at RM74,000, or the new Honda City Grade S (AT) lowest specs priced at RM85,000.

I wonder.. Does the Gen 2 CPS has the same probs? Essentially, except the engine and the butt, everything is the same with Persona right?
Yea, is you can tahan with the sucky noise insulation of the Dugong, go for it. But despite the probs, I'm happy with my Persona. For that price, very comfy.

Hi guys! Good evening! Just notice the engine compartment has 'klak klak klak' sound when I am about to move. It's like bearing sound and happens only when the A/C is ON. Any idea? icon_question.gif

Well,I suppose many Persona owners are just as unhappy as you. But what can beggars do.They can't be choosy. If I have the $, I would have opted for something less problematic (please bear in mind there is no such thing as the "perfect ride"). Furthermore, if I know the problems existed thru' this thread and still buy this ride, I would be a greater sucker than this ride that sucks.

Anyway, I hope anyone who gives feedback could indicate exactly the the age of their rides. At least, for those without those problems can be fore-warned.

The reason I participate in this forum is first & foremost to know more about my ride & solving the problems that come with it. But like I have mentioned before, I knew the above mentioned existed but still I bought it. Reason is it is the only ride I like & that can suit my budget. At least you grasp the most fundamental point that you only get what you pay

Cheers. (try not to make this thread so repetitive & depressing)

P.S. Wonder if that Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir guy reads all this? Who is willing to be the first disgruntled Persona to bash their ride in front of this guy in protest? Anyone?

hey Personarians.

Did you read the interview with Datuk Syed Zainal?
He says that there will be a new Persona model by year 2012 and it will be their global car model. It will also be designed by Italian. What do you all think about this?

I hope they can get things right and hopefully by then Persona will be a car many would be proud owning it (not that I'm not proud owning 1 now tongue.gif)
If really desirable, wonder how much i can fetch if i want to trade in my current persona then haha

agree with your point, if i have enough money i would never considered buying our beloved national car. hopefully this new car won't increase my blood pressure haha.

I'm going to tint my car, plan to go for eco-tint, anyone using eco-tint for their persona here ?

Anyone complaint all these problem to proton directly ? what's their feedback ? or perhaps should we write a petition to demand proton solve all these problems ?

last saturday, me and my GF, decided to go to Honda showroom, wanna test drive City, bcoz i wanna change the car. tongue.gif
with bigger luggage , bout 500liter space, one thing disappoint me, the cabin space, my shoulder almost touch with side driver, felt like driving kelisa.

so far, i use persona, i'm very happy with this car performance for long distance/highway road.for city driving, better not using this car.cornering superb and stable, tried at bukit putus/muadzam/mersing road.

nvm, after 5 year, i'll change the another car. nod.gif
