hi i'm planning to get a persona se very soon.

may i know what's the common problem for persona and what should i check when i receive my new car to makesure it's problem free?

i heard the sales man said the persona se already pre-installed with tinted film. is it good enough or is it possible for me to get it tinted with other branded film?

I drive a Red SE.  Common problems:

1 Rattling aircon
2 Famous Persona clunking sound
3 Squeaks at the back
4 misaligned meter cluster

As for the tinted film - its a joke!  That kind of tinted film you can do outside for only RM150 whole car!  Useless under the sun!  Got it stripped off and retinted for RM1100.  Best money I ever spent.

is it those problems exist on other persona se car as well or just a manufacturing defect on your car only ? the problem you mentioned sound scary to me

so, i've just got my ride! driving on 1st day, some probs as mentioned earlier came out:
1. air-con rattling sound  unsure.gif
2. wiper wash - no water come out  doh.gif
3. loud kluk-kluk sound came out from right hand tyre (is it the lower arm??) during turning up and down on multi-storey carpark. This is so unacceptable!! the sound sounds very scary.. is like the arm going to break!!  mad.gif
4. confirmed with the the SC that the safety belt signal will not blink.. only applicable for perdana, but i wonder y they still put the icon there. i tot perdana meter is different.  wink.gif

the rest unknown.. still hope nothing more else will appear!  whistling.gif

Well,I suppose many Persona owners are just as unhappy as you. But what can beggars do.They can't be choosy. If I have the $, I would have opted for something less problematic (please bear in mind there is no such thing as the "perfect ride"). Furthermore, if I know the problems existed thru' this thread and still buy this ride, I would be a greater sucker than this ride that sucks.

Anyway, I hope anyone who gives feedback could indicate exactly the the age of their rides. At least, for those without those problems can be fore-warned.

The reason I participate in this forum is first & foremost to know more about my ride & solving the problems that come with it. But like I have mentioned before, I knew the above mentioned existed but still I bought it. Reason is it is the only ride I like & that can suit my budget. At least you grasp the most  fundamental point that you only get what you pay

Cheers.             (try not to make this thread so repetitive & depressing)
P.S.  Wonder if that Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir guy reads all this?  Who is willing to be the first disgruntled Persona to bash their ride in front of this guy in protest? Anyone?

agree with your point, if i have enough money i would never considered buying our beloved national car. hopefully this new car won't increase my blood pressure haha.

I'm going to tint my car, plan to go for eco-tint, anyone using eco-tint for their persona here ?

Anyone complaint all these problem to proton directly ? what's their feedback ? or perhaps should we write a petition to demand proton solve all these problems ?

Bro Loong, thanks you very much for testing for me. My persona feel is a bit only, but last time totally cant feel it. My old ride is year 96, civic.

Added on November 7, 2009, 11:23 pm

When you start engine in the morning, the temp should be at the lowest point, 30C i think. after awhile, after the engine warm up, it will stay between 60C n 90C. this is what showed on my meter.

well, indeed when taking off the plastic cover, the engine looks more cool and meaner, but i scared water will flood around the spark plug ignition socket (or whatever the term is)  tongue.gif
Hmmm... blister. If your car still under warranty, go claim it. I already did so. They changed the whole dashboard.
*
how long it takes to replace the dashboard ?

i plan to go out during lunch time to go for 1k service
