Steps to install: laugh.gif

Before proceeding, make a backup of the original navigation software by copying a folder named 'Guider' under the SD card root.

1. Download GMXT from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IPEP11SI

2. Download CEDESKTOP from http://rapidshare.com/files/37224775/ceDesktop.exe

3. Extract the downloaded GMXT. Goto \...\Garmin\Apps\WM\. Look for QueBmp240.dll and rename it to QueBmp240_orig.dll. Then look for QueBmp320.dll and rename it to QueBmp240.all.

3. Copy the folder named 'Garmin' to SD card.

4. Rename the downloaded CEDESKTOP to dp_Guider and replace it with the original one under the 'Guider' folder.

5. Reset the device by switching the ON/OFF button.

6. After resetting, tap on the navigation icon. The Windows will be started and then hidden. Tap once again and you will see a Windows CE interface.

7. Now, execute 'SD card\Garmin\Apps\WM\Que.exe' and look for the Card ID. Use the ID to generate unlock code. Create a notepad file and name it SW.UNL. Copy this file to Garmin folder.

8. Copy your GMAPSUPP.img file to the Garmin folder. Done. rclxm9.gif

Happy Journey!

Some knowns bugs: icon_question.gif

1. Settings of Garmin will restore to default after resetting. (Right now I only leave it in Standby mode to prevent this)
2. Volume of the device will increase after configuring the backlight in Garmin. (Uncheck all the checkboxes regarding to backlight setting. Use the original setting of the unit.)
3. The taskbar of Windows CE cannot be shown properly.. hmm.gif

well as for gps by looking at the video of other using a1000 and a900

they are using SD Unlock program[which usually for mio] where it make 2nd interface when pressing the navigation button..which inside mainly u can put any application as long as Windows CE 5 apps..that y they can provide papago x2 and garmin also with original gps
nyway instead of running  'SD card\Garmin\Apps\WM\Que.exe' try run Garmin.exe at \Storage Card\Garmin\RunGMXT\Garmin.exe

this will hide the taskbar nicely...
*
My device cannot be turned off by pressing the button on top after unlocking.. Beware!

Can anyone please make a registry backup of your A900 and send it to me? Urgent! Thanks!

Anyway, I managed to install PapaGO X3 on my device. It works like a charm! rclxms.gif What is the resolution of your A800? The version I'm using only supports 480 x 272.

i think its smaller. i dont really know but i am following yr every instructions.

now i hv a buggy problem. i can shut down properly. but!!! my volume automatically increases whn i run the map nvigation. say i reduced the volume to 20%. whn i run "go to" select destination, thn it calculate the best route. thats whn the volume automatically increases.. to 100%!!! tats very annoying. trying to look for a remedy to it. so far i cant find any
*
To overcome this problem, first of all, set the backlight of your unit to 'Always ON'. Then in the setting of Garmin, goto 'Settings > Display > Backlight Override' and uncheck all the check boxes. This will prevent the program to trigger the bug. smile.gif Hope this helps!

Luckily its multilink.... if torsion beam... the ride quality will be different already. but then in terms of maintenance, torsion beam cost less because of the less parts and bushings.
*
I peeked under my car just now. It looks more like a torsion beam. Are you a non IAFM owner, if yes then can you take a photo of your suspension? I wanna compare with mine. biggrin.gif Thank you.

Hi fren, thanks for sharing out the garmin files & installation guide.
Currently myself is using Garmin on my Nokia xpress 5800. I found that the orignal GPS from my A800 is not user friendly. Therefore I just 'jail' it in my kampung tongue.gif
Now, with your kind sharing, I hope that my A800 can work with garmin and can be released from 'jail'  rclxms.gif

Btw, roiss, can you share us the Papago's files and installation guide as well  wub.gif
If A800 really cannot work with Garmin, at least I can go for 2nd choice. Thanks fren, good job  thumbup.gif  rclxm9.gif
I will share it soon. biggrin.gif But I'm not sure whether it works on A800 since the resolution is different. blush.gif

And guys, I think all the Persona IAFM in M'sia are using multilink for the rear suspension. I've checked with a mechanic. thumbup.gif

But this site, Proton Turkey states that the rear is using Torsion Beam Axle with coil springs. hmm.gif

Steps to install PaPaGO X3:

1. Download software from HERE.

2. Download SETTING_EN from HERE.

3. Download patch from HERE.

4. Extract and copy the PaPaGO folder to SDMMC.

The least I go is when the meter shown about 30. Anyway, my fren told me that better pump petrol before yellow light.
if always under tank (< 50), will easily cause the fuel meter rosak.

Opps... May I know wat are these 2 files? for Garmin??  hmm.gif
Sorry ya, maybe i miss out some reply here

Another Q.. do we need to run any keygen as per mobile phone installation to crack the Garmin or Papago??
*
The two files are for PaPaGO X3, you may use either one (No key needed). And YES, for Garmin, you need different key for different SD cards or devices.

Hi Roiss, I was not able to download the item 2 & item 3. Are these 2files very big size? Can you email to me?
I hit this error when click on your links -->
This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times.....

I've tried to install garmin to my A800, very sad to say that after the screen shown the garmin logo, then it just hanging there.
Then I format my SD card to try for 2nd & 3rd time. Now my original lakotoo software totally cannot on. It just shown me the Proton Logo, and again it hang there  cry.gif  Anyway to recover it?
I did backup all the files from the SD card, format, and copy back the files to SD card, now I cannot get back my orignal GPS.  icon_question.gif  cry.gif
So, my last chance is to try this Papago x3. Unfortunely, I'm not able to download the item 2 & 3, pls pls....  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

Com 2 : Serial Cable (2pin) on CO
Com 3 : RDS on com3

Opps! Forgotten yours is A800. My fault. tongue.gif I'm not sure which port is A800 using. You try it one by one until you get the 'Scanning Attached' done. If the right COM port is selected. You will see a number of satellites in the bar graph and also the orbit else wrong COM port. Tell me if it works. smile.gif

Hi ryujimitsui, myself took about 3 days only gao tim the garmin installation.
The instruction from Roiss quite clear. Perhaps you need to override the APPS folder, voice folder, RunGMXT folder for few times.

Added on October 21, 2009, 3:50 pmOh ya.. Roiss, are you using Garmin or Papago now??
Did you copy POI into the garmin folder?
I did so. I have a copy from my mobile, I try it as well in A800, it works great. And the map I am using now is dated 12 Oct 2009 smile.gif
If you need one, I may upload to share it with you smile.gif
*
Yeah, I've the POI copied into the Garmin folder.. Nice! biggrin.gif (Night markets, TnG, Speedcam... bla bla bla) thumbup.gif
Anyway, is your Garmin lagging on A800? Mine refresh very slowly.. I'm only using 2D view for navigation.. tongue.gif

Thanks.
1. When you said copy to SDMMC to you mean the root folder of SD Card or SDMMC folder of SD Card?
2. Do we need to change any of the file to point to this? Default is pointing to Guider folder.

Having tried GMXT & PaPaGO X3 which would you recommend base on bugs, performance, accuracy etc...
*
1. Yes, root folder.
2. You just need to rename 'ceDesktop' to 'dp_Guider' and replace it.

Both are good in performance and accuracy, it's just the matter of insufficiency in memory for the Garmin to perform properly. So, I'll recommend you PaPaGO X3 as it runs smoothly, moreover it has 3D buildings + junction view. thumbup.gif
