hey guys.....

can i ask a question here?? it's about my wife's persona manual m-line.

everytime I press the clutch to change gear, the engine would shout and the rpm needle goes up. this is very annoying. I asked/complained about this when my wife and I sent it for the first major service and they told me that is characteristic of campro engine.

do any of u guys have this problem?? I suspect it has something to do with the ECU, as the persona is drive by wire type of car. it is as if when I release the accelerator pedal, the accelerator pedal is still being pressed. thus when I stepped on the clutch, the rpm needle goes up and the engine 'mengaum'.....

what do u guys think??

my rear light plastic cover pecah already, i wonder is it possible to replace the cover alone..

the whole rear light set (right side) cost RM 187.62, aduh sad.gif

really strange, no scratch on chassis but somehow the lampu pecah....

I went to service for 20000 mileage just now. they charged me RM470.they changed engine oil semi,air cleaner,oil filter,power stereng oil (as they claimed my oil color is dark), damn so expensive.spark plug n auto oil no change.

I have power steering fluid leak problem. Proton changed the whole power steering rack but leaking became more serious, before it takes 2 months to leak from max to min, now only 1 week already below min...

Also do we really need to do wheel balancing after changing power steerig rack? It's not under warranty so i have to pay for the balancing...

What can be the real cause of leak?

i think something wrong on the oil filter, it is so expensive, if i not mistaken, it just around rm50 . or is it fuel filter? shocking.gif


Added on March 25, 2010, 1:42 pmand if i not mistaken, they used 3@4 bottle of atf and the spark plug is a platinum spark plug, ngk R, it is not a normal one.

if you can change urself it only cost you RM120 (if u buy direct from shop that sells ori proton parts) ..

oil filter shld be only 12.22

For all persona specialists,

Sorry for some stupid Q here as Im still new.

Im driving a white H-line persona year end of 08. Milleage: 25k km

Q:
1. How do we diffirentiate among Persona V1 to V6 ?

2. My seat-belt warning lamp has no indication anymore, any problem?

3. Air-cond is cool but the fan noise is abit heavy. Is that normal?

4. I feel that the front suspension is softer than the back and is lack of supportive during bumpy road. Any idea?

5. The FM radio is receiving the signal weak, causing the imbalance of audio quality (sometimes loud and clear, sometimes very blur). Is this normal?

This is my second car and I find Persona a very good car to drive except for some minor problem. Thank you.

Hi, this is the campro original characteristic.
U can minimize or mitigate its "mengaum" characteristic by:

- When revving up to certain speed, let say 3000 rpm, hold at this rpm for ONE / TWO second before changing to next gear. The higher the gear changing, lesser the time you would take.

- Release the accelerator pedal and press the clutch at the very same time after you have stayed for ONE / TWO second during gear changing.
